Bottega Veneta Spring Summer 2010 Menswear And Accessories

It's one of my most favourite collections for Spring Summer 2010 menswear. Bottega Veneta's Spring Summer 2010 menswear collection is all about colours and the exploration of the dynamics between considered and careless in a man’s wardrobe. From sharp tailored suiting in the form of a tailored jacket to the easy movement of athletic wear, this collection sees lots of wearable pieces that takes a Bottega Veneta men from work to play. A sanguine palette adds to the jaunty mood: shades of fever red, crimson, anemone, and black-red gladiolus are paired with black, truffle, army green, and a warm cigar. Color also runs through the collection in other ways – in vertical stripes, the most eye-catching tie-dyed knits or even the over-dyed prints. I can see the collection easing perfectly into Singapore hot and warm climate. Very cheery for summer and yet with a relaxed sophistication. Military influences such as epaulet zip jackets, army green short sleeve shirts adds a much welcomed masculine charm.

But beyond the drool worthy knits, printed shorts and brightly hued fringe scarfs, the bags are always the real heroes in any Bottega Veneta's collection. This coming Spring Summer 2010 season, we will enjoy gorgeous bags characterized by rich color and dazzling craftsmanship. The newest shape is a small, flat shopper, sleek and functional, one more element in Bottega veneta’s campaign to eliminate the overstuffed pants pocket. However one bag of special note is a new, limited-edition men’s Cabat made of tie-dyed cigar-colored intrecciato. Definitely a work of art by itself and in the house's signature intrecciato leather weave, refreshed with a new colour dyeing technique. It's an investment piece worth eating 'baked beans' for!

Another 'baked beans' motivating item I am loving is a pair of woven leather strap sandals decorated with metal studs on the front. The Sanguine red colour makes it a definite must buy!

“We’re always looking to expand the options that exist between the tailored suit and the most casual clothes”, says Creative Director tomas maier. “For spring, we wanted to offer clothes that are particularly individualistic. Changing the shape of the pants and breaking the silhouette with color add an energy, even a brashness, that feels invigorating.”

Well said, Tomas Maier. I am already invigorated and ready to do some Bottega Veneta shopping next Spring Summer!

I totally agree with you the Bottega Spring 2010 is the best and the most wearable collection. I want all the knits and shorts. Unfortunately, there are very expensive. Around US1000 for the knitwear. Well no more shopping this winter haha.

I finally have a chance to try on the new SS10 collection in the trunk show here in SoCal (Irvine, CA) on Monday. It is my first trunk show. I am happy that all the knits that I love are available close to my size at the shop. Seems like size 48 is the default for the show. The staff were very helpful and let me try on everything. Almost everything shown in the pics are in the trunk show. The tie-dye knits are in linen blend or fine cotton. The scarf are cashmere. I love a red short sleeve tie-dye that is not on the runway. The jacket in pic #2 is washed leather and it is so light and soft. It is very slim fit, maybe too slim for summer(Too bad it is US$5500, ouch) I am so excited to see the accessories in pic #8 and #9. I love the cuff bracelet (one size only and it fits!) BV will close the Men's section in Irvine :( But they will ship any order from Beverly Hills down to Irvine shop. The customer service is great. They can reserve all the knits and shirts in 48 and 50 for me once they arrive in January. Don't miss the trunk show when it hits your town. I will be eating beans and salads for months to pay for my order haha
