My MANy Bags News #232
Hackett London and Monocle Launch Exclusive Summer Polo Shirt
Further to my post on the limited edition Pierre Hardy Colorama Graff Trainers, here another collector's item for all who sought to own limited release merchandise. Monocle, one of the best magazines ever to hit the newsstands (as created by the ingenious minds behind design bible, Wallpaper magazine) has collaborated with iconic British menswear brand, Hackett to create a limited edition polo shirt.
Tyler Brûlé, editor in chief of Monocle, believes Hackett is the obvious choice for a classic polo shirt collaboration. “You can’t beat Hackett for quality and British authenticity,” he says. “Monocle is a long-time friend of the Hackett brand and with summer fast approaching, a fresh, well-fitting and locally produced polo shirt is exactly what is needed.”
These navy and white striped Hackett Monocle Polo Shirt fuses understated, casual style with superior quality and intelligent design. Available from May at monocle.com and the Monocle Shops in London, LA, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Created by a partnership of the Monocle and the Hackett design teams, the 100 per cent cotton-pique, short-sleeved polo features a stepped hem and a uniquely designed collar and cuff to allow a consistent and fluid pin-striped pattern. There are also mother of pearl buttons on the collar and a subtle Hackett Mayfair logo on the hip. Only 50 pieces are created, with sizes ranging from small, medium and large and will retail for £85.
What better combination than savvy reads and a touch of debonair to look the part:-P Monocle is one of my favourite magazines with such typographically sound layouts while the navy/ white stripe polo shirt will be perfect for summer preppy trends against a pair of tailored shorts and some easy deck shoes:-)

ReplyDeletei don't see why this polo shirt is exclusive and a collector's item. i mean it looks like it could come from any fast fashion brand.
ReplyDeleteI guess the limited quantity makes it exclusive and it's a collaboration with monocle...:-P
