The Material Boy #239

Below: A zipped top version with shoulder strap as seen on the Spring Summer 2009 menswear runway

Gucci GG Washed Cotton Tote With Tan Leather Trim and Khaki/White/Orange Web

If you miss out on the Gucci pink handle totes recently (they were sold out in mere days), this is one good alternative with more mileage for your 'investment' and yet equally appealing.

Presenting the Gucci GG Washed Cotton Tote With Tan Leather Trim and Khaki/White/Orange Web. The colour ways are more subdued than the neon versions and is crafted in cotton GG fabric instead of canvas. I imagine this will be much softer to the touch and less stiff and cumbersome. The orange/khaki/white web colours is sophisticated while not boring. The tan leather cleverly compliments the overall colour scheme, making this bag very versatile. Roomy, nonchalant and glamourous (light gold hardware), any Gucci or no Gucci fans alike will find this a great companion to their summer wardrobe. There is also a zipped top version with shoulder strap as seen on the runway but not here in the Singapore's Gucci stores.

Currently on display at Gucci Paragon's display window...hurry if you want to buy it, cos' I believe these are as limited as their pink handle counterparts. Retails approx. at SGD $1850.

Retail price: US $1350. Where to buy:

I suspect this one looks good "empty". The display version in Paragon looks a bit "out-of-shape"!

Love the solid handles and the tan leather is a nice touch.

~$2,000 a bit steep for cotton though, non?

You might need a base shaper to hold the shape of the bag when using.:-) I always do that.

yes, I agree...the price is steep for a cotton bag with some leather trim. Well, Monogram bags are the craze here in SG and there will be people who will pay any price for it...just like LV.:_p

I love the colour scheme. More classic than seasonal.

I don't know about this, I saw it and felt it was just not worth the price for some reason... definitely not as spectacular as the tote with pink handles.

I think this is more classic:-) hence the more subdued design.:-P

no wonder i couldn't find the pink-handled one at DFS the other day.. ha.

and i've used the ck bag once already, but too lazy to snap a pic yet. :p

the white and brown version of the pink handle tote only has 2 per colour in it was sold out very fast!

the DFS store in Scottswalk will not stock runway pieces. They have more basic Gucci designs:-) From what I know..the store in DFS is not in anyway related to Gucci in Paragon or Taka.

The bag is gorgeous!! I saw it today in my Gucci store but it's too too too big

I bought the convertible tote/weekend bag (the "zipped version"). It's absolutely gorgeous, I'm in love with that.

Yes, the price was very high... But that's typical of all male luggage proposed in all Gucci shows. That's a philosophy of the fashion house itself, even because the number of bags available is limited.
