Chanel Spring Summer 2014 Graffiti Printed Canvas Bags

Below: Latest bag obsession... Chanel's Spring Summer 2014 Large Graffiti Printed Canvas bags are to die for! I need the tote version in military green which features signature chain handles with multi-coloured rope charms and frayed edging... something precious treated with a street edge! LOVE!
Below: Comes in cream coloured version which is equally appealing!
Below: The backpacks are a forerunner of attention for fashion fans and streetstyle photographers! (Priced from USD3400...Yikes!)

Chanel Spring Summer 2014 Graffiti Printed Canvas Bags

Lately there hasn’t been any noteworthy bags that has triggered my bag radar. Seems the arm candies debuting this season have been somewhat stale. But all thanks to Chanel, the bags scene for SS2014 just got a little more exciting. For their Spring Summer 2014 collection, design maestro Karl Lagerfeld sent down the runway, a series of graffiti printed canvas bags that sparked off a buying frenzy. Sold out almost everywhere, these grunge themed bags are highly sought after... a scenario that reminded me of Marc Jacobs’ reign for LV’s artist collaboration bags.  I love treating something that is so resoundingly expensive with less than the precious care it warrants. Making them all 'vandalised' and distressed with frayed edges and graffiti patterns just bring a new street cool to luxury. This is one bag I really want since LV’s monogramouflage bags! LOVE!

Choose from backpacks (from USD3400) to totes which spots the signature chain handles. I love the latter more... especially in a military green which boasts masculine gender neutral style. Measuring 15.7 x 13 inches, the tote bag can work for fashion forward girls as well as guy.

Gender Bender #63

Below: Chanel's Quilted Leather Briefcase is another bag that works fantastic for boys too.
I love the size and simple design with a distinctive interlocking C brass clasp...

Below: Brad Goreski owns a vintage version... fits his preppy style so well:-)

Chanel Quilted Leather Briefcase

Guys love Chanel’s leather bags as much as the ladies. A pity Chanel creates predominantly women’s designs and many may not look right for men. But if you keep an open mind, sometimes you can find neutral pieces that functions equally well for both genders. All it takes is a little extra attention and some guts to pull of these bags. Take for example, the Chanel O-Case in quilted lambskin (which I recently acquired)... and also this gorgeous Chanel Quilted Leather Briefcase which looked absolutely fabulous for the boys.

The Chanel briefcase features no frills details and comes with a signature interlocking 'C' logo clasp. Choose neutral colours from black or brown for a more masculine look and dress preppy for a smart ensemble. The bag is available in signature caviar, lambskin or patent leathers. I was skeptical about patent, but Daniel (from Dear Daniel) pulled that off with incredible chic. I love the classic but recognisable design. Brad Goreski owns a vintage version too, slightly larger and is a match for his preppy style.

Who wants one now? Me me me!

Below: Made for ladies, but guys can work the Chanel Briefcase too... (ASOS surprisingly sold out on this yellow vintage piece for £2500)

My Bag Collection #70

Below: My latest acquisition all the way from my recent trip to Bangkok! Meet my first Chanel bag... a gorgeous A4 sized Quilted Lambskin Clutch bag in blue... simply fabulous:) Matches my blue themed outfit of a D&G chambray shirt, Dries Van Noten tie belt and Zara shorts...
Below: The Chanel Clutch Bag comes in black as well... or even a bright red and burgundy colour!

Chanel Quilted Lambskin Clutch Bag

During my recent Bangkok vacation to usher in year 2013, I acquired more than just beautiful memories and a jolly good time with friends... I also inaugurated one of the most coveted luxury brands, Chanel into my bag collection. Yes, I picked up my first Chanel bag:-P Meet my new Chanel Quilted Lambskin Clutch Bag (known as the O Case, as stated on my receipt) which I bought at the Chanel Boutique at Siam Paragon Bangkok.

Crafted from soft lambskin with the brand's signature quilting, this A4 size clutch bag not only looked fabulous, but it is functional and chic to carry on any occasion. I am not usually a fan of Chanel as I find most of their accessories too feminine. And guys carrying Chanel seem to be trying too hard to make a statement. But this is not the case for this gorgeous clutch bag. The simple design, a discreet interlocking C logo, the clutch bag speaks volumes of understated sophistication without screaming like a wannabe.

I debuted the clutch bag today while in town. Definitely, one of my favourite bags now.

The clutch bag retails for SGD1010 for the large version and SGD710 for the A5 sizes. Comes in an assortment of beautiful colours including black (as seen on the pic above, modelled by Stephen Style), red and even burgundy. A must have! What are you waiting for?

Below: Get ready for Boy Chanel collection this Fall Winter 2011... with designs that bears a strong sense of androgyny... just like the boyish attitude embodied by Coco Chanel...

Chanel Fall Winter 2011 Boy Chanel Collection

Apologies everyone, I misread the press info. The Boy Chanel collection is a woman's range. I guess I was wishing for Chanel man bags for the longest time and hence my misinterpretation initially:-)

This Boy Chanel collection is made for women... but those who embraced boyish charms and wants to exploit the masculine feminine attitudes present in the coming Fall Winter 2011 trends.

Here's extracts from the press info:

Far removed from the conventional feminine clichés, the Boy Chanel bag is immediately seductive and unmistakably different. Its ambivalent design has a hint of the androgynous woman and opens the way to a new kind of appeal. “Do the right thing at the right moment,” Mademoiselle Chanel used to say.

Worn as a shoulder or across-the-body bag, the Boy Chanel boldly asserts its difference, yet at the same time it is firmly rooted in tradition. Karl Lagerfeld suggests this with a new interpretation of boyish charm. “Chanel used men’s underwear to make dresses; she had this boyish attitude, in fact it is the very spirit of Chanel. She got it from Boy Capel, the great love of her life, which, incidentally, explains why the new bag is called the Boy Chanel.”

This famous duality is a fundamental part of the bag, which is inspired by a cartridge bag that was originally made for hunters and was carried by the fashion visionary herself.

And if you are wondering about the signature interlocking C insignia... they will appear subtly on the circular centre of the silvered and aged gold metal buckle, supplemented by a subtle marking of the legendary Chanel name. These bags will be crafted in glazed calfskin in colours of flat red, deep black, intense grey, lead green and brilliant ivory. Choose from three sizes for the 'cartridge' bag, a purse and a large tote (which presumably will be the most sought after).

The wish for Chanel Mens range of bags may have to wait a while longer. But hopefully in the future, the bag gods will answer the prayers of all Chanel male fans!:-P

Below: Checks is abundant in Chanel's Cruise 2011 accessories collection... I love the black and white tote!

Below: Brooches, charm bracelet, cuffs, earrings all fashioned in the checks pattern! Love those cuffs... Would not mind the version in Black and white:-)

Below: The tall gold tone ballet-gladiator style sandals is my favourite! Abbey Lee Kershaw looked fab in them:-)

Below: The Cruise 2011 accessories as seen on the runway in St. Tropez...

Below: The cuffs in black and white are fab!

Chanel Cruise 2011 Bags, Shoes And Accessories

Presented on the sun kissed streets of beautiful St. Tropez... 70's-ish diaphanous caftans, long crocheted dresses, ruffle-lapelled silk jersey trouser suits, and patchwork denim skirts were sent sashaying down Chanel Cruise 2011 runway presentation.

The ready to wear collection was casual and down to earth and therefore it was no surprise Chanel's cruise 2011 accessories followed the same easy breezy theme... being lighter in feeling and cheery in colours. Plenty of gingham checks are used. Done in dashes of pink, or handsome black and white, they are definitely ready to coerce you to part with your consumer dollars come resort season. Cute brooches, bracelets, amazing fabric totes (the black and white checks version is one which I do not mind getting myself!) and shoes cleverly demonstrates Chanel's savvy take on this otherwise classic yet charming pattern.

Shoes for Cruise 2011 season are non killer heights, with many variations of flats and low heels. Most notable is the tall gold, ballet-gladiator like sandals which stood out in an instant from the collection!

A refreshing change in mood that heralds the coming of Spring Summer season, especially after the cold months of winter...

Below: Mr Karl looking radiant at the Chanel Resorts 2011 show in St Tropez...

Below: Joshua Jackson and Diana Kruger attended the event... love Joshua's outfit with his ankle length pants and brown loafers, very smart and not too formal...

Chanel Resort 2011 Menswear

If Karl Largerfeld were to have his way, his muse and men will all wear colourful abstract prints (Paisley flowery looking...), silk pyjamas with ruffled collars, skinny jeans, shrunken knit sweaters and a glamourous sequined blazer. How's that for a true Chanel man? Love it or hate it... your thoughts?

(But I am amazed at the extravagance Chanel is investing on a resorts wear show... in St Tropez, my dream Riveria destination...someone whisk me there! Lastly...How did Cruise 2011 come so fast!?!?!)

Chanel Fall Winter 2010 Womens Bags And Accessories

A preview of what to expect from the house of Chanel. Yes, I am talking about the Fall Winter 2010 collection, even when we are just in the midst of stocking up on summer wear.

Lots of tweed materials on accessories such as brooches, bracelets and shoes. I love the heavy weave of the material which adds to a good textural contrast for the fall season. It's also a house signature! And Coco Cocoon bags gets a silver tone and looking more space age than ever. I however love the bright electric blue colour of this 'love or hate' puffy bag. (Price tag is scary even for the nylon versions!)

The shoes are looking promising too, with one pair of packable flats that I think chic women must stock in their travel wardrobe, cos' it's easy and glamourous, especially suited for all your Parisian shopping marathons.
