Boss Orange '1930s Inspired' Chronograph Watch
I often shop out of 'vanity'...but last evening, I have to shop for necessity. My very old Diesel watch finally RIP after faithful service of almost 6 long years. I tried to revived my dying 'comrade' by changing the battery...but after 'struggling' for one more day, it passed on.
Hence, moving on from my 'grief'(grief mostly coming from having to spend money again!)...I hop down to Takashimaya to see what good deals I can pick up since it's their additional 10% off promotion for DBS cardmembers this weekend. Scouting around for a new 'comrade at arms' (we go shopping conquests all the time while keeping track of precious time!), I finally found the suitable candidate. Introducing my 1930's inspired Boss Orange Chronograph watch:-)
I am the kinda of person who likes big watch faces, retro designs and steel bracelets...so this fits in perfectly to my requirements. The slightly 'tarnished' effect on the metal parts add to a vintage look. While the copper crowns on the side is interesting and evokes an industrial feel. It reminds me of 1930's pilots:-) I just get this feeling.
The best part of my search for this new 'comrade at arms' is the hefty 50% discount! Since I have a DBS credit card, I get an additional 10% off to make the deal sweeter. Needless to say, I have to 'recruit' it immediately.
Cheap sales, good bargains...but most of all, a functional watch that will serve me well daily:-)

Retail price: SGD $730. Where to buy: Takashimaya Departmental Store, Level 1

nice watch! how much did it cost in the end? :-)
nice watch.. and very impressive layout...
you should consider brands like IWC or Panerai watches...for the amount you spend on bags, must match with the right watches to complete the look.
Nice. Reminiscent of Panerai.
love it, Kev.
watches will always be my frustration as I have tiny wrists.
I am not a fan of fashion watches. It's like buying Juicy Couture as high fashion
Yes, a good watch is coming (in due time):-) This is for everyday use:) so I do not want something too expensive that gets knock and scratch everyday. I am not very careful with watches:-)
I like classic inspired pieces. and I like Jaeger Le Coutre's reverso pieces. As does patek philippe. Surely I will not want to wear these expensive watches everyday and get them scratched or knocked?!?!? Heart pain. Hahahah.
Thanks for the all the comments. I am just trying to make the shopping reveal more interesting here. Hope I have succeeded!

And Allan...I have very small wrists as well. But steel bracelet watches usually fits!
Kevin..contrary to yours and popular beliefs (and mine as well until I got myself proper watches), the materials they used are strong and almost scratch proof. You pay that much so that you can knock it and it will still look ok.
Say no to fashion watches!!!
Haha..Indeed..fashion watches are not worth the price they charge. This one is very affordable with the discount. I will not pay full price for it to be honest. But okay for everyday wear. I dun mind. I am not so particular about watches.
But I did see a Omega model that I like a lot. Who knows...in due time...that may be mine!
Kevin:-P
I have been lusting over a speedmaster for ages.....chrono only pls. Say no to battery operated ones.
Btw I also have small wrist, I prefer small/prince size but then again the trend now is to wear big faces....
Hi Kevin, it says "Orange Chronograph Watch", is there any orange in it? Care to show us the "true colour"? :)
It's the name of the line. Boss has boss black, boss orange and so forth..hahaa.
The only orange is the small logo on the watch face:-)
Boss orange is the more casual line of Hugo Boss.
A great everyday watch - good choice! Do you have a model number? Can't seem to find this watch online from Hugo Boss or in watch stores in London!
Hi Jonathan,
I am not sure of the model number.
these are the numbers I found on the back of the watch:
HB.32.1.14.2055
I think it's from a few seasons back:-P
Kevin
Thanks Kevin, that helps!
