Maje Fall Winter 2010 Womenswear

To all my female readers: Have you been coveting some of the most prominent looks seen on the Fall Winter 2010 collection runways? But 'troubled' by the exorbitant amounts required to acquire those key pieces...

Well, recently while browsing thru Net-a-porter, I found this cool Parisian label, Maje who does amazing pieces closely resembling some of the key runway looks by big name designers. Think Balmain's translucent bow-tie blouse, skinny gold jeans, navy pea coats and leopard overcoats... or Burberry Prorsum's aviatrix shearling jackets, military blazers and boots or Céline's furry skirts, tops and cool minimalist leather top... you name it, you got it.

Not to say Maje is not original. But designer, Judith Milgrom, sure knows what women wants for the season. She does inject her fair share of design sense, incorporating key trends into her collections.

Pricing wise, the brand is more expensive than your Zara and Topshop, but the styles is clearly more refined and Maje brand less mass produced. So will you buy into Maje or simply go for the cheaper Zara/ Topshop or splurge all the way for the true originals?

Clearly, power to the 'consumers to decide' is always welcoming!

I got a pair of skinny Maje camouflage jeans from Net-a-porter recently... and I love it. I have been searching for a men's version but the sizing is always too large and style too scruffy.

haha, their PS schoolgirl version isn't nearly as angsty as the ones in the runway. its a rather timid take. i like the other looks though.

Very cool!

What size camo pants did you order and how is the sizing?

Hi Sean, I ordered french size 38. I normally wear size 28-29 for american sizing.

The hip area might be slightly wide as this was meant for a woman's shape. But not a big problem. Still snug and looked great. If you want a closer fit, it is just to take it a couple of centimeters for the hip area. But I will not, might shrink a little after the first wash, since the fabric is slightly stretchable. Very comfortable and lighter fabrication. So not heavy or warm at all.

The lower legs will cut tight, as it is meant to be skinny.

I originally got a size 40, but exchange it for size 38 for a better fit.

Hope this helps!

Yes, that helps a lot. Wish me luck! I ordered the 40, as I wear a US 30. I'm not as skinny as you!
