Givenchy Spring Summer 2011 Mens Bags, Shoes And Accessories

Yet another noteworthy collection from Givenchy... fashion forward, somewhat Gothic with a fetish twist. Givenchy Fall Winter 2011 bags, shoes and accessories exude a sense of 'carnality' as seen on the 'Ready-to-wear' runway presentation. Abundant leopard prints and 'slasher movie' masks gave a good hint of the theme of the collection.

When it comes to accessories, Leopard print shoes are a standout which I foresee only the most flamboyant of guys will dare to attempt. What about those menacing 'Friday the 13th' leather masks which can come in exceptionally handy for Halloween, any brave souls keen to adopt the look? Perhaps Riccardo Tisci wants 'movie serial killers' to up their style ante, instead of the usual ugly old stockings or ski masks.

Beyond the high 'shock value' pieces, there are, thankfully, many appealing and savvy pieces to please the 'normal' fashion folks. The brogue style shoes are one good example. Classic brogues are updated (thru 'trainers' style laces and patent leather buckles), making them edgy and relevant for the modern dandy.

I also love the gold 'cut out' slip ons with buckles which will be perfect to air the feet on warm summer night parties. I love GOLD!

Laser cut leather applique on leather lace-ups also create a unique design feature while the white quilted leather trainers makes another strong piece sure to win the hearts of Givenchy fans.

Bags, on the other hand, seem to be less impressive... only the gym style Nightingale bag gets a thumbs up. But then again, who needs male Givenchy bags when you have so many exciting female versions that work exceptionally well for guys (Pandora is the best example!).

Givenchy continues to impress and challenge our perceptions of menswear! Thank goodness, we have a Givenchy Boutique in Singapore:-)

I adore the black patent lace ups! The cork sole is such a cool twist.
