Saint Laurent Hunting Rucksack In Navy Canvas

Below: This streetstyle pic showcasing Saint Laurent's Hunting Rucksack in Navy Canvas and Black Leather just ignite my strong desire to get myself one! Love the colour and the simple utilitarian chic it brings about:-P (Streetsyle pic source: Matches Fashion)
Below: The Saint Laurent Hunting Rucksack in classic toile monogram looks equally appealing with the gold tone hardware. One of the few monograms that I find non repulsive:-P
Saint Laurent Hunting Rucksack In Navy Canvas

The functional and chic Saint Laurent Hunting Rucksack is one backpack design that I have loved. Being lightweight due to a combination of canvas and leather, and with a design that looks both luxurious and ruggedness at the same time... this is truly a bag to desire.

Now that I found a streetstyle pic showcasing how the bag looks when carried... especially the one in navy (USD850)... I fell in love with it all over again and more! Definitely need to stash out some funds to get this backpack in my wardrobe. Hopefully, I can land myself one when the end of season sales start:-P

Now it also comes in Saint Laurent's classic toile monogram canvas (USD1250), accented with gold hardware. Somehow Saint Laurent monogram screams less of tacky than the other brands. Love this as well!

Below:  Brilliant colours that will bring a smile to your style... (From top to bottom: Cadaques in yellow suede, Chorale Flat in Neptune blue suede, Espananas in black canvas with pineapple embroidery)
Below: Casual footwear with an edge (From top to bottom: Melides Casa Flat in black leather, Melides Casa Flat in orange canvas, Rollerboy spikes in Aqua)
Summer Perfect Shoes: Christian Louboutin Spring Summer 2015 Mens Collection

Spring has arrived for many of you all over the world. And with warmer weather catching up on us, there is no better time than to plan a colourful, cheerful and fun filled wardrobe to celebrate beach vacation season!

Christian Louboutin has come up with many summer appropriate designs that will win you over this SS2015. Bright colours, quirky prints and vacation shoes styles will leave you spoilt for choice and set you in the mood for a getaway right away.

Top of my picks, I love the new Nazapunta, which is a studded sneaker design with a spiky captoe in a slip-on skates style. Skate sneakers styles are hot favourites at the moment, thanks to Céline! These red soled versions are offered in the brightest hue of orange leather (SGD1250) or ‘Loubie Print’ pattern featuring the Christian Louboutin’s symbol on PVC (SGD1250) accented with striking blue. Something casual, something with an edge, something to fall in love with at first sight:-P

If you are into espadrilles for full on summer vibe, the Melides Casa Flat in canvas (SGD800) or leather (SGD900) are a standout from their conventional counterparts. These are lined with spiky studs which again lends an edge to resort footwear. If spikes is not your taste, the pineapple embroidered ‘Espananas’ (SGD1400) will get you basked in tropical fun!

Other fun designs that caught my eye include the Lou Spikes Flat High Tops (SGD1400) in the new ‘Loubie Print’ with red leather trims, the minty aqua green ‘Rollerboy spikes’ (SGD2,200) and bright neptune blue suede ‘Chorale Flat’ (SGD1600) that all pair well with white trousers and pastel shirts. No excuse for not being smartly dressed up for dinner dates at your favourite luxury resort.

Christian Louboutin’s new collection are truly indispensible when you need stunning vacation footwear! I need a pair!

Gray Malin x Sperry Exclusive Spring Summer 2015 Shoe Collection

Below: The very talented photographer, Gray Malin, famous for his aerial photography of beaches and all things happy has collaborated with Sperry for an exclusive collection of summer friendly shoes that features some of his beautiful works! I want a pair:-P
Below: The unisex collection features dock shoes, lace-ups and slip ones... indispensible footwear for a vacation filled summer season!

Below: The inspiration for this collaboration comes from Gray Malin photographing his own feet wearing Sperry topsider dock shoes in mid air... such as this pic below... Definitely not for those with acrophobia!:-P

Gray Malin x Sperry Exclusive Spring Summer 2015 Shoe Collection

Gray Malin is known for capturing aerial photographs of everything from beaches to penguins to mountain ranges, taken all over the globe. (Orlebar Brown has been featuring some of his beautiful imagery on their iconic swim shorts!) His colourful and almost surreal works convey a sense of optimism in life that brings a smile to anyone who sees them. To capture his iconic images, Malin flies in door-less helicopters and leans out of the side to do his shots. On these adventurous shoots, Gray Malin began snapping pictures of his Sperrys... dock shoes that are a timeless favourite of hedonistic stylish men.

“It’s an exhilarating experience dangling from the side of the shaking helicopter while the wind is whipping you in the face, and having seconds to manually adjust the light to capture a perfect timeless moment,” he says. “During my aerial photo shoots I started snapping pictures of my Sperrys dangling from the side of the helicopter and it inspired me to reach out and see if we could collaborate to bring my images onto the shoes. We are both brands who celebrate a mutual love for the sea and stand for classic style and adventure.”

Hence, for Spring Summer 2015, Malin and Sperry merge their loves for the great oceans to create the perfect capsule shoe collection. This very fun and appealing collection includes four classic Sperry styles featuring three of Malin’s signature aerial seascapes, all recently taken in Portugal, Sicily and South Africa.

The unisex collection offers three silhouettes for both the boys and ladies. Choose from the familiar boat shoes or the easy casual slip-ons, and lace ups. These are shoes which brings new meaning to summer fun in the sun:-P A must have for sun worshippers who want style and art (his prints costs a small fortune to collect!) at the same time. I want one of the dock shoes!

“I definitely vision both men and women of all ages wearing them. Looking at the collection as a whole, each shoe fits a different personality, from preppy to urban, younger to older, and even classic to trendy. I truly love them all but my style has always been classic so I am drawn to the iconic boat shoe.” Says Malin. “The theme of the collection is artistic beach imagery translated onto iconic style, allowing you to bring the essence of escape into your everyday wardrobe and lifestyle”

Get yours now at Sperry.com and select Sperry retail stores (Sorry those of you in Singapore, your best bet is for friends to help you get them. Sperry do not ship to our region). Pricing starts range US$75 to US$88.

“Working with Sperry on the design was a great experience. They did an amazing job working to translate the prints beautifully onto the shoes.”
Malin considers the collaboration a great team effort. I agree too! Need these shoes for summer:-P (Watch the video above to find out more about this collaboration)

Below: Some of Gray Malin's fantastic photographic work... I love the brilliant composition and colours... a style that is uniquely his own!

Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Dual Time

Below: Introducing the new Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Dual Time launched recently during SIHH 2015... read on to find out what features this handsome timepiece packs! Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo wore one during the recent 87th Academy Awards... speaks a lot about this latest addition to the Montblanc timepiece collection:-)
Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Dual Time
as worn by actor Mark Ruffalo during the recent 87th Academy Awards

Today is the last day of Chinese New Year and the festive season (in Asia, at the very least, following Christmas and New Years in consecutive months) ends and a normal work year will commence.

What better way to get back in gear than to treat yourself to a new timepiece. This time, just launched during January at SIHH 2015... Montblanc delivers another noteworthy timepiece for horology fans and savvy gentlemen. Check out their latest Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Dual Time.

This new addition to the Montblanc brand is equipped with a complication developed in-house by Montblanc, enabling it to display a second zone time (local time) simultaneously along with the time in the wearer’s home time zone. This feat is achieved with the aid of a second hour-hand that can be reset in hourly increments without affecting the position of the first hour-hand. The date display also corresponds to this local time hand. If the user does not need to display the second zone time, the second hour-hand can be set so that it completely covers its counterpart for the time in the home zone. The 24-hour display at “12 o’clock” shows the home time with a day and night indication.

I love the clean and uncluttered styling of the watch face. The bezel has a flat surface that’s alternately polished and satin-finished. The horns are rounded. Built from three parts, the bright silvery white dial is adorned with a sunburst pattern and bears eleven facetted applied indexes and a prominent numeral “12”. If slimness of a watch is one of your discerning requirements, then the 41-mm-diameter case in stainless steel is crafted at an elegantly slim 9.9 mm. How amazing to pack all these horological innovations within this slim depth.

The leather wristband is crafted at the Montblanc Pelletteria, the Maison’s own leather manufacture in Florence, Italy. The new and uncommonly flat double folding clasp secures the strap handsomely.

Wear it and you are all set for even the grandest of occassions... such as what Mark Ruffalo did when he wore one to the recent 87th Academy Awards. Befitting a talented Hollywood actor nominated for his role in the movie ‘Foxcatcher, so this timepiece is definitely one to own and cherish.

Adidas x Pharrell WIlliams Polka Dot Stan Smith Tennis Shoes

Below: Check out these fun Adidas x Pharrell WIlliams Polka Dot Stan Smith Tennis Shoes... the surprise comes in the form of the clever and quirky insoles! Embroidered polka dot pattern on colourful leather is a yes:-)
Below: Love the foot reflexology chart in pop art style on the insoles... how quirky fun! Love this:)

Below: Spotted on the streets during New York Fashion Week recently... (Pic from Four Pins by George Elder)

Adidas x Pharrell Williams Polka Dot Stan Smith Tennis Shoes

Last Sunday, I spotted a guy wearing a bright blue pair of polka dot sneakers which was strikingly cute and fun. I had the impulse to confront the guy and ask him where he got his kicks. I can be that relentless when it comes to my fashion radar. Coincidentally, I also posted a pic on my instagram of a guy wearing the exact same pair in black. Having seen the real thing and a streetstyle pic of the shoes, my interest was immediately sparked. I wondered if the shoes were Comme Des Garçons since the brand loves their polka dots. But to my surprise, I found out they were actually Adidas, and from a collaboration with talented musician, Pharrell Williams. Pharrell Williams have long been embraced as a style icon, often seen with his eclectic and unexpected mix of street and luxury pieces. Loud colours and bold graphics have since become his trademark. His love for sneakers is unprecedented, often photographed wearing them.

This is not the first collaboration project by Pharrell Williams, he has done some amazing designs prior to this round. But with this new season, Pharrell Williams infuses even more of his own playful, dynamic energy onto a Adidas Originals classic, the Stan Smith tennis shoe. Originally created in 1973 for tennis star Stan Smith, the adidas Stan Smith shoes have stood the test of time, well loved even to this day. With Pharrell Williams’ update... playing up of polka dots embroidered against boldly coloured red, blue and black full grain leather upper... these classics are now elevated to be even more collectible for sneaker fans.

Below: Love the blue pair... Saw this in person, was a brilliant bright blue and love at first sight:-)

However, what truly sold me on the shoe... beyond the fun pattern, are the very unexpected foot reflexology chart printed on the insoles. Charmingly illustrated in a pop art style, they put a smile as soon as I spotted them. What a brilliant idea especially for a foot massage fan like myself. These little touches goes a long way. Now I need a pair over my feet. Retails for USD150. Get yours today at Adidas.com or endclothing.co.uk

Gucci Flora Knight Mens Bags Collection

Florals and plants have been a constant source of inspiration for designers when designing for Spring Summer seasons. Botanical prints bring about a flamboyant sense of joy and freedom. Nature have a way to enthralled us with all their colours and beautiful organic forms.

Just as Valentino has gone full on for prints this SS2015, Gucci launches their Flora Knight collection that gets us back in touch with mother nature, albeit in a sexier and luxurious way. Whimsical, colour botanical and floral motifs set against a dark background add a sense of mystery, offsetting the colours to showcase the brilliance of the pattern. Perfect on mens accessories, the collection introduces the prints on coveted mens canvas and leather backpacks (€890), totes (€695), clutch bags (€260) and even travel trolleys (USD2950). Boys will not lose out to the ladies this season especially when it comes to stunning prints.

I want the backpack!

Zara Spring Summer 2015 Mens Collection: My Picks

Below: Time to update your wardrobe with on trend pieces for Spring Summer 2015... here's some Zara pieces to consider to get your tailored sportwears looks for the new season... I love this pair of joggers and silver metallic boat shoes. Read below to find out why:-)

Below: Skates are easy to wear and so comfy. These are my picks for the season from Zara... from croc embossed textures in navy to...

Below: ... tropical prints canvas versions...

Zara Spring Summer 2015 Mens Collections: My Picks

Mixing high fashion with fast fashion is a great way to update your wardrobe without hurting your wallets. Zara is my go to brand for their good balance of trend and basic pieces. For Spring Summer 2015, tailoring in athletic wear is a key theme that runs across many designers. But investing in a tonne of expensive high fashion pieces from this sports inspired season may not be feasible unless you have a matching gargantuan budget. So Zara’s on-trend options allows you to buy into the looks and still stay off the red on your bank accounts.

Here’s my picks for this new season... I have kept in mind the functionality and sportswear theme, so I don’t get something that will end up being a white elephant.

1) Drawstring Jogging Pants (SGD109): I love this pair of jogging pants. Joggers are featured on many designers’ collection and are a key style for the season. I like this Zara’s version because it mixes tailoring details with sporting aesthetics. So you continue wearing them even when the sports trend is over. The waist and pocket areas are designed very much like your regular tailored trousers but the elastic cuffs at the hems and drawstring waist brings about the sought-after athletic look. I love the slightly elastic jersey material which is very comfortable while the cut being more fitted than regular sweat pants  makes for a sharper silhouette. I  am very happy with my navy one. Comes in grey as well. Love this!

2) Silver Boat Shoes (SGD159): Boat shoes are indispensable when it comes to spring summer wear. They bring a sense of the yachting season where they go most perfect with shorts and ankle length trousers. So this is must-have, especially when updated with a silver metallic finish. Something different than solid colours, slightly glamourous and yet so versatile. I need these.

3) Trendy Slip-ons in Navy Croc Embossed texture (SGD109):
Céline and Kenzo x Vans can be blamed for my renewed interest in these ‘skates’ style footwear. They are so easy to slip on and out, and comfortable to wear all day long. Now with croc and smooth navy texture, they are even a better reason to acquire A touch of formal that you can wear day and night.

4) Printed Slip-ons (SGD79.90): When these skates come in tropical prints... it’s a no brainer. Take them on beach holidays and wear with brightly hued pants and shorts for maximum holiday chic. Because of the canvas construction, they are lighter and easy to pack away in your luggages.

5) Patchwork Jacket (SGD139):
An extra layer is always welcomed should you want some layering or keeping warmth in the evenings. This Zara jacket is sporty and features colour blocking patchwork design which inject colour and pattern for a whole lot of matching possibilities. Being sporty, you can easily replicate some of the season’s hottest runway looks.

3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Hour Backpack

Below: 3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Hour Backpack... now updated with a slimmer silhouette and cleaner lines... I love the design and size!
Below: 3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Hour Backpack in Cement looks amazing... the back of the backpack has these cool looking cris cross 'X' details which shows the design pays attention to all facets of the bag...

3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Hour Backpack

3.1 Phillip Lim embodies the lifestyle and attitudes of the urban male. Uncomplicated, edgy and always ahead of the style game. We have loved the 31 Hour Bag, which was designed with form and function in mind for every hour of the day. It has now evolved to be the brand’s classic and still very much adored.

So it was no surprise that a backpack for the 31 Hour series gets introduced to Phillip Lim’s accessories collection. Now updated with a slimmer hood, cleaner lines and a comfortable padded back, this backpack has all the thoughtful details and aesthetics to match the high demands of the style forward male. I love the quiet appeal and shape, inspired by familiar college backpacks but revisited for luxury. The cement grey colour looks especially appealing and I appreciate the roomy capacity with an interior zipper and 2 exterior pockets that helps to keep things organised. The interesting ‘X’ crisscross design for the shoulder straps also makes for a cool design statement, goes to show,  attention to design was being paid to all facets of the bag. With buttery soft leather that gets better with use, the 3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Hour Backpack is definitely an urban piece to consider, taking you places while looking good at the same time! Love it:-)

(Priced at USD1095 for the full grain cow leather version while a more affordable nylon and leather trim version retails for USD750. Size is 17”H x 13”W x 7”D)

Valentino Spring Summer 2015 Mens Opens Low-Top Sneakers

Below: I have loved Valentino's Open Low-Top Sneakers ever since they were first launched a couple of seasons ago... Now I loved the new Spring Summer 2015 versions in coloured Suede and contrasting leather... Perfect to match up some prints for a casual summer style!

Below: For those white shoe lovers... choose from regular coloured leather panels or metallic gold options... I want the latter!

Valentino Spring Summer 2015 Mens Open Low-Top Sneakers

Valentino's Open Sneakers have joined the ranks of their coveted Rockrunners as one of the recurring shoe designs offered for each season. The easy slip-on sneakers, with a contrasting leather band across the middle, creates a cool colourblock effect, perfect to layer without being intrusive.  This simple yet striking detail coupled with concealed shoe laces makes the shoes highly versatile and interesting. For Spring Summer 2015, I really love the versions in suede and leather as featured on the runway. Breaking away from the familiar classic white leather, now the open sneakers come in coloured suede of grey and sand... contrasted with bright maroon and turquoise blue leather panels. A refreshing update indeed.

Match with brightly hued patterned outfits from Valentino’s SS2015 mens collection (or patterned pieces from other collections) for an easy summer style. Who wants a pair? I do!

Retails for USD745. The pair with a metallic gold panel is my pick!

Céline Summer 2015 Bags, Shoes And Accessories

Below: My picks for some guy-friendly Céline bags, shoes and accessories this Summer 2015... Check them out... Céline Skates (if you have a small enough feet) are must haves in my opinion... Love the tan textured croc pair! The Curved Evening Clutch (comes in black or white) is another good gender bending option... interesting curved base and refreshing silhouette:-)

Below: These vertical cabas features striking patterns perfect for a cheerful summer season!

Guy Friendly Céline Summer 2015 Bags, Shoes And Accessories

Céline have always tread on the middle ground when it comes to their womenswear designs. Their minimal and modern accessories have often been non-gender bias and appealing, that boys and girls fall in love with them all the same.

After combing thru their Summer 2015 collection, here’s my choice picks on interesting pieces which I feel could work very well on a guy. Yes, time for some gender bender shopping!

The Vertical Cabas have always been a favourite of mine. And when it comes in a striking red and blue diamond jacquard with lambskin leather (Euro1000), the result is a guy-friendly tote but with all the bold pattern and colours often lacking in the mens bags. For a more paired-down option, go for the vertical cabas in textile with natural and red stripes (Euro780). Part Mediterranean, part city modern... this will be a perfect getaway bag!

Both cabas come with matching Solo Clutch pouch (Euro320 - 400) that bears similar patterns and materials. Good things do come in a set:-)

Another unique design that catches my eye is the Curved Evening Clutch in Palmelato Calfskin (Euro800), reminding me of those wrist strap pouches that business guys love to carry. But of course Céline’s version is tastefully different employing a curved base paired with a foldover closure... challenging the convention of flat and rectangle format.

On to footwear... guys who have smaller feet are the lucky ones who are able to fit into Céline’s highly coveted Skates sneakers. With savvy colours and materials, Phoebe Philo has turned this generic sportive design into an understated fashion statement. For this season get a pair in Sun Tiger Snake (Euro750) or Black and White Stripes Canvas (Euro480) or Tan Stamped Croc (Euro580)... you just cannot go wrong with these comfortable and versatile footwear. Great match for any summer wardrobe.

And if sneakers is not your game, perhaps a revisited Espadrille Slipper in black calfskin (Euro380) could serve you just as well over warmer days to come. I love this Céline’s variant, bearing a more minimal silhouette.

Façonnable x Jean Cocteau Capsule Collection For Spring Summer 2015

Below: Under the new artistic director, Daniel Kearns, Façonnable is on track to revamp their brand image and pay homage to their French Riviera roots. For a special capsule collection for Spring Summer 2015, prepare to get into the mood of this idyllic holiday destination of the rich and famous, artistically infused with the fantastical drawings of the late French artist, poet, and filmmaker Jean Cocteau.
Below: From understated and artistically infused totes, espadrilles and slip-on skates (my favourite!) to ready to wear... the refined wardrobe for a French Riviera vacation can be yours:-)

Façconable x Jean Cocteau Capsule Collection for Spring Summer 2015

Façonnable, a tailoring label founded by Jean Goldberg in Nice back in 1950, became famous for kitting out Hollywood’s A-list for the Cannes Film festival. Under the new handsome artistic director, Daniel Kearns, the labels is on track to revamp the brand and pay homage to its French Riviera roots. For a special capsule collection for Spring Summer 2015, prepare to get into the mood of this idyllic holiday destination of the rich and famous, artistically infused with the fantastical drawings of the late French artist, poet, and filmmaker Jean Cocteau. Façonnable x Jean Cocteau Capsule Collection offers immaculate holiday wardrobe pieces, reimagined with Cocteau’s signature motifs such as eight point star, the infinity sign and treble clef eye, and the Inca twin heads. Sir Pierre Bergé (partner of Yves Saint Laurent), President of the Jean Cocteau Committee gave his approval, a testament to the Façonnable’s tasteful expression of the artist's work on contemporary fashion. The predominantly navy and white Cocteau inspired designs appear across a variety of mens and womens garments and accessories such as scarves (Euro195), tote bags (Euro575), espadrilles (Euro425), sunglasses, cuff-links, and pins allowing the consumer to integrate a bit of the French Riviera into their style no matter where they are.

I am loving the mood the collection creates, as evidenced by the collection’s video (Watch the film above). The Skates sneakers (SGD390 or Euro195) with the eight point star print gets my top pick as does the double breasted navy with a subtle embroidered illustrated face. Wonderfully refined and vacation inducing. Now I need a holiday to wear these pieces! (Façonnable x Jean Cocteau Capsule Collection is stocked at Barney’s New York and Los Angeles, Selfridges London, Colette Paris, 10 Corso Como Milan, Lane Crawford HK, Club 21 Singapore, Tomorrow Land Tokyo, and Harrold’s Sydney among other locations.)

The collection is now available at Club 21 Mens store in Singapore. Definitely going to take a closer look this coming weekend:-)

Below: From the tastefully shot lookbook to the ads and the video(see above)... the mood of the collection is set to inspire...
