Hedi Slimane's Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2013 Menswear Lookbook

All the recent controversy surrounding Saint Laurent's PR endeavours aside, you have to admit Hedi Slimane's a real talent. Not only is his vision in fashion one of a kind, but his acute eyes for photography is also that of a true master. The man can design n tell a compelling visual story all at the same time, which is rare.  He should have believed more in himself instead of the critics that may have come w his new creative role.

For his first SS13 menswear collection at the newly rebranded Saint Laurent ( a highly debated name change), Mr Slimane have kept a tight lip for his creations except to selected buyers. Only recently has imagery of his collection surfaced, just in time for the launch of the brand's new website.

Check out these latest lookbook pics from the highly anticipated SS13 men's collection. Tapping into his fascination with youth and the sub music culture, his first collection lifts Saint Laurent from dusty old shelves, giving it a new modernity and youthful attitude. The Saint Laurent man is younger and edgier, imbuded with a rock attitude, clad in sharp cropped blazers, leopard printed shirts n leather biker jackets. Sequins optional:-)

The 50's quiff and flat top hairstyles on the boyish models also hints at James Dean's rebellious attitudes, with the collection set amidst palettes of darkly allure. The only brights came from accents hues of crimson red n shimmery gold.

I may not have been equally impressed by his debut SS2013 women's collection, but i am definitely rooting for this menswear collection. I have no doubt, haters or not, fashion boys from all over will embrace the collection and gladly survive on baked beans to either afford or fit themselves into the skinny pieces next season.
