The Material Boy #168

Paul Smith Brown Soft Briefcase With Green Leather Trim and Detachable Shoulder Strap

I have always been fascinated with laptop bags, especially when I am about to travel. I am constantly on the lookout for a stylish, chic soft briefcase type bag that doubles as a laptop carrier and yet can function as a day bag for holiday sightseeing. Something that works thru night and day and be complimentary to a lot of looks is important in my criteria.

I spotted this cute Paul Smith Brown Soft Briefcase With Green Leather Trim. I thought this looks great and functional! The green colour leather trim adds a dash of colour but the deep shade of the green somehow does not make the bag too casual. It is elegant, classic and yet modern and playful. I love the external flap pocket with inverted studded strap opening. Very thoughtful so the straps do not get in the way when you open the flap pocket. Good for easily retrieval of commonly used items and perfect for passports and flight tickets.

I also like the huge compartments within the bag. Laptop, documents, ipod, toiletries and even throw in a couple of pieces of clothing. To keep hands free for ease of movement when travelling, a detachable shoulder strap fits the task perfectly.

The signature Paul Smith multi-coloured stripe detailing is used on the bag as a subtle but yet innovative trimming along the base of the bag. Nice and subtle but yet easy to spot, making the bag easily recognised that it is Paul Smith:-) And canvas material is both lightweight and durable which is the ideal material for travel bags.

Update:
This bag is available in Paul Smith Hilton Hotel for SGD$1759. It's really nice and sturdy!

Retail price: UK 495 pounds. Where to buy: www.paulsmith.co.uk
