Mulberry And 'Romance' By Chris Craymer

London-born photographer Chris Craymer launches his first photographic book this month. Titled ‘Romance’, the 200 page book is a personal project which Craymer has been working on for several years - an evocative series of photographs capturing moments which perfectly articulate the true meaning of romance.

The couples featured in the book are sometimes models, sometimes not, but they are all real couples in varying stages of what Craymer has described as ‘pre mortgage love.’ The 130 images, some in colour, some in black and white, still-life alongside lifestyle, are wistful, lustful, joyful and most importantly playful – the light, witty touch being an important element in much of Craymer’s work.

The fashion brand, Mulberry, were so taken with the collection of photographs that they are sponsoring the publication of his book; exhibiting the shots in their store windows throughout the world; and hosting a series of events in New York, London and Hong Kong. The first event takes place in New York on May 14 and is hosted by Emma Hill, Mulberry’s Creative Director, Steven Kolb, Executive Director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Chris Craymer. This is followed by London on May. At each of these events, a boxed, ‘Limited Edition’ of the book, containing a signed and numbered print will be sold for $200/£150 and framed prints from the exhibition will be sold in a silent auction. The final event will be hosted in Hong Kong on August 27.

Visit www.mulberry.com, where you can flip through an edited selection of Mulberry’s favourite images from ‘Romance’, send an e-postcard to a loved one, purchase the book, view photos from the events, and enter to win one of the limited edition sets with the book and the signed print.

Copies of ‘Romance’ will also be available at leading bookstores around the UK, priced at £35. Proceeds from the New York event benefit the CFDA Foundation, Inc.
