The Material Boy #348

Below: I am in love with this design 'Couvertures et Tenues de Jour' which features illustrations of horses... the pale pink colour is charming without being too loud:-)

Below: This fuchsia coloured alternative can add a bold dash of colour to a single
coloured blazer!

Below: Another of my favourite...'Belles du Mexique' which shows twirling mexican dancers:-) It's a work of art!

Below: Comes in Hermès' signature orange colour too... will work great with dark
coloured blazers:-P

Hermès Silk Twill Pocket Squares

Since I am a huge fan of blazers, naturally I am also keen on finding a charming pocket square to accent the blazer with a dash of pattern and colour. So this weekend, I did my fair search of locating beautiful pocket squares from many stores in Orchard. From high end boutiques the likes of Dunhill, Zegna, Etro and more to the cheaper alternatives at Takashimaya and Isetan, I finally ended my search and came to a conclusion. The ultimate beauty in pocket squares lies in the 'sacred' retail sanctuary of Hermès!

Indeed, Hermès' reputation as a renowned scarf maker is not without its reasons. Their scarves have some of the most interesting designs and illustrated prints that puts many other brand's design to shame. I saw 2 beautiful 'Couvertures et Tenues de Jour' print (very charming horses print) pocket squares (from the women's range which is more interesting) used a store decor by stretch them over a lit background. What a ingenious idea to dress up the retail space and showcasing the product range since the scarves features literally works of art on them. Unfortunately, they were not for sale and were sold out in the stores (but still available on the US Hermès website together with another beautiful design of twirling Mexican dancers 'Belles du Mexique'... it's love at first sight!)

But now I know, the indisputable place to get the most desirable and unique pocket squares and scarves has to be Hermès. You pay more, but you are buying a piece of art. I think that itself is already priceless.

It's so overpriced, you can buy 2 to 3 for the price they are charging! Yikes!

Is it? I assumed that your price of S$230 to be for the pochette 45cm size. The price there is US$148 which I Googled to be S$204.
