Salma Hayek Pinault Opens The 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival In Gucci

Salma Hayek Pinault, actress and wife of French magnate Francois-Henri Pinault, Chief executive of the French luxury and retail group PPR SA (who owns high-end labels such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Puma) graces the red carpet in stunning Gucci at the 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival on May 11.

At the photocall for Puss in Boots this afternoon, Salma Hayek Pinault wore a Gucci Fall/Winter 2011-12 Cognac soft leather strapless dress with organza shrug embroidered with hand painted flowers, purple lizard belt with light gold metal detail, tan ostrich high heeled platform pumps and paprika lizard small top handle bag with GG detail. Red is a stunning colour for red carpet!

At the premiere of Midnight in Paris in the evening, Salma Hayek Pinault wore a Gucci Première strapless champagne silk georgette evening gown with full pleated skirt, featuring an embroidered bustier of silver beads, sequins, and crystals, breaking up into clusters of crystals and beads over the skirt. Champagne satin high heeled peep toe evening sandals with crystal encrusted heels and champagne satin clutch.

Which dress fits her better?:-) I think the first red outfit could have been worn similar to what you see on the runway. The stiff leather dress seems to be too hard against the soft floral shrug.

But the beaded gown makes Salma looked like a true superstar. Elegant and extremely stunning, not to mention slimming. I wonder when Gucci will start a couture runway presentation officially...

oh the perks of being the wife of a powerful fashion conglomerate. i find it fascinating that she found great exposure not only in Latina America and Europe but also in the US!
