Below: More designs from Christian Louboutin's Fall Winter 2011 Mens Collection... presenting the new Alfie Flats in Glitter or White...

Christian Louboutin Fall Winter 2011 Mens Alfie Flat In Glitter And White

What happens when you mate Brad Goreski's favourite bling bling Christian Louboutin Louis Crystal Flats and the 'Wonder Woman-esque' red, white and blue Superball Flats? U get the new Fall Winter 2011 Alfie Flat in Glitter (SGD1300)! These new stunning shoes from those fame red soles are imbued with attention-grabbing glamour and some 'kick-ass' fun. The high cut trainers also features a buckle detail on the back and embellished with lots of sparkle (in the form of silver glitter and metallic gold leather) amongst the red, white and blue colour combination. Alfie Flat will surely make Wonder Woman green with envy and Superman dashing at superspeeds to clamour for one:-) For me, I just love Alfie for its high glamour and huge statement making ability. Be a superstar in your own right when you wear these!

However, if this glitter version is too much for your taste, you can always settle for more subdued versions in White leather with red trimmings (SGD1300) or brown leather mixed with leopard haircalf. Rest assured Christian Louboutin never disappoints when it comes to choices.

The Alfie Flats will be a great alternative for owners of Louis and Rantus flats or for new fans who wants something different with a higher cut. Another definite must-have for Fall Winter 2011!

Below: Love this Coach Mens Reversible Tote... handy size and looking smart on a guy!:-P
Coach Fall Winter 2011 Mens Reversible Tote

After seeing this pic from the August issue of Japanese Magazine, Men's Club... I am convinced I need this Coach Fall Winter 2011 Mens Reversible Tote in black. Love the size, the shape and the ability to reverse out to the canvas exterior. I love duality. I love options. This versatile Coach mens tote just fits all my expectations. The coloured stripes on the bottom also add a zest of colour to lift the bag to a new levels of visual appeal.

My Bag Collection #63

Below: Another new bag for Spring Summer 2011... Mihara Yasuhiro's 'Grunge' Birkin makes it to
my bag collection. Love it!

Below: Details that resembles the read deal (Hermès Birkins)... but with a unique feature in the form of hand cut extension flaps on the front and back. An unfinished appeal that gave this Mihara Yasuhiro bag it's personality:-)
Below: I debut the bag today... amidst stares along Orchard Road:-P Fun experience. Love the size of the bag too.
Mihara Yasuhiro 'Grunge' Birkin In Brown

Japanese designer, Mihara Yasuhiro's twisted take on the legendary Hermés Birkin is one of the most controversial (if not most interesting and fun) bag to be had this Spring Summer 2011. Behold, Mihara Yasuhiro's 'Grunge' Birkin, a deliberate 'wicked sense of humour' directed at an iconic bag:-) I first blogged about this 'Grunge Birkin' here and had mixed reactions from bag fans all over. The 'Grunge' birkin name (which I innocently gave the bag when I wrote my post) somehow got stuck as the bag's unofficial title as word gets spread around the internet. (something I must admit I am in a way proud of:-P).

Some bag lovers hated the guts of Mihara Yasuhiro while others understood his humour and sarcasm... but I just love the bag for the fun of it. Of course, knowing it's from Mihara Yasuhiro (he is often applauded for his innovative mens collections) gave me even more reason to want the bag. Hence, the 'Grunge' Birkin became a must-have in my SS2011 shopping list.

Unfortunately, Singapore's Club 21 store did not stock the colour I want, so I had to turn to my original source, Club 21 Thailand for the acquisition of the bag. Navy was my first choice of colour, but this Thailand exclusive hue sold out at the time I had wanted to buy the bag. I had no choice but to settle for another colour which turn out to be a blessing in disguise. I chose a reddish brown tone which is absolutely gorgeous and I am loving it more day after day. The textured leather used is also more polished and structured than it's distressed leather counterparts, hence holding the shape better. To sweeten the appeal, the bag gets complimenting gold tone hardware which adds a welcoming touch of luxury.
Mihara Yasuhiro's 'Grunge' Birkin is crafted with longer handles (can shoulder sling easily), comes in a handy size (about 38cm width) but most interestingly, features a unique hand cut extension (no two bags are alike) on the front and back of the bag. It is these odd extensions that gave that 'unfinished' appeal which forms the bag's personality. Love it!

I debut the bag to a flurry of staring eyes, walking down Orchard Road today... all in the name of good fun and humour:-) This bag is fast becoming my top favourite bag... a fun and unique addition to my bag collection. Well done Mihara Yasuhiro!

(More pics on my facebook fanpage. 'LIKE' my fanpage if you enjoy reading this post.)

(PS. the Mihara Yasuhiro 'Grunge' birkin also comes in a mens size (about 42cm width) that is exclusive to Club 21 Mens Singapore. Do check it out!)

Below: I attended the Christian Louboutin Media Preview for their Fall Winter 2011 collection on Friday... These are my favourites! Major shoe lust! Check out the Rollerball Spikes in all-black, silver glitter and my top pick, in Tartan Fabric... I am also smitten with the New Louis Flat Spikes in all-black... love them all!
Below: Watch me model the shoes.... which one should I get? Tartan (SGD2200) or silver glitter (SGD1900)?
Below: There are also new designs to cause more hemorrhaging of your bank account... Pointy Toe Christian Louboutin Platters in exotic shagreen (Silvery Stingray) and buckled trainers...

I love Christian Louboutin Fall Winter 2011 Mens Shoes!

I am having a major shoe orgasm after attending the Christian Louboutin Media Preview for their new Fall Winter 2011 collection. Of course, my attention is highly focused on the much awaited mens collection. I am so excited to see what new offerings are coming to the boys. And I am not disappointed. So many designs, so many shoe lusts! Especially the new Rollerball Spikes... I love all the new Fall Winter variants!

My top pick has to be the highly versatile and absolutely drool worthy Tartan Fabric Rollerball Spikes. A touch of colour, a touch of dapper spirit with double the edginess we expect from the metallic spikes. It's one indispensible shoe for any avid shoe fan for Fall Winter. Definitely statement making while being easy match for any occasion. I need a pair! (Retails for SGD2200).

Following closely behind for my must buy list, is the much talked about Rollerball in Silver Glitter... which will make you shine like a superstar at any high glamour event. This is one shoe I am going to see a lot of celebrities endorsing:-) I love the shimmery effect of the glitter leather which is very unique and a good match to the silver studs. Metallic shoes never looked this good. Check out me modelling the shoes above:-P! (Retails for SGD1900)

I had expected myself to fall madly in love with the All-Black Rollerball spikes. But in comparison to the 2 aforementioned variant, I find the all-black design looking good on photos but not as visually appealing in real. Perhaps it is the all black studs that made the shoe more dull than it's silver spiked siblings. However, if you want both an attitude without overkill, this may be a good choice. (Retails for SGD1900)

Other noteworthy designs include the all new pointy toe Christian Louboutin Platters which features interesting materials from houndstooth fabric (SGD1500) to exotic shagreen (a metallic stingray, SGD2900).

I expect these new Fall Winter 2011 Christian Louboutin shoes to be highly sought after... so do drop by your nearest Christian Louboutin stores (in Singapore, it's at Ngee Ann City) and start befriending the sales associates to reserve a pair. I am planning to do just that! But which one to choose... choices, choices, choices!

I will be dreaming of Christian Louboutin for many many nights. This is truly a love at first sight.

Check out more pics of my Media Preview Visit at my Facebook Fanpage. See me model the shoes and check out new designs for the trainers (think all-black Louis Flat Spikes)!:-P 'LIKE' my fan page if you enjoy reading this post.

Below: My top 5 picks from Mr Porter sale!

My MR PORTER Spring Summer Sale Picks!

If budget and size availability were not a problem, these would definitely make it to my wardrobe! I love these 5 items from Mr Porter. Since I would have even bought them before they were on sale, it's not to be missed when they are up to a massive 50% off! I am now contemplating that Marni Contrast Panel Shirt... half price.. Oh my.

Here's 5 top picks by me:

1) Marni Painted Colour Block Jersey T-shirt: Was £125, now £62.50 (50% off)
Love the unique colour block effect that is like a circle wrapping around the back in stunning blue!

2) Marni Contrast Panel Short Sleeve Shirt: Was £196.16, now £98.08 (50% off)
I have been eyeing on this shirt for the longest time... the olive and black colour panelling effect creates an interesting colour blocking effect. The shorter front also means this shirt looks great when worn untucked:-P

3) Rick Owens Long Jersey T-shirt: Was £142, now £99 (30% off)
Rick Owens extra long T-shirt with a slanted seam at the back... sexy, fitted and will created an interesting silhouette especially when worn under a skinny blazer. Rick Owens is never this affordable!

4) Martin Margiela Cotton Leather Trimmed Shirt: Was £227.38, now £113.69 (50% off)
Love the leather trim around the placket and collar... Slim fit for a defined cut! Navy colour is timeless:-P

Lanvin can do no wrong! Raw seams and innovative design with Lanvin's signature unfinished details. Superb cut to flatter any guy. Sartorial meets sportswear... must buy:-P

Below: Balmain Homme Spring Summer 2012... evolution rather than revolution. But there are some elements from that collection that at least evolved, no matter how marginally... such as the use of Python skin... which forms this beautiful biker vest. LOVE:-P

Below: More python skin used... on trimmings for hoodies...
Below: This collection by new creative director, Olivier Rousteing sheds away some of that 'Decarnin uncouthness' and brings in more refined aethetics, in the form of many tailored tuxedo looks... The usual skinny and tight silhouettes are also challenged and now we see skinny tuxedos matched with drop crotch tailored pants over boots...
Below: Immaculate tailoring... and some extent of innovation, such as this cut off sleeves Tuxedo jacket vest... I like it!
Below: This feels a bit Rick Owens...
Below: For ultimate luxury, a crocodile skin leather Tuxedo jacket which will definitely find Kayne West a fan...
Below: Hoodie and trainers... Dior Homme feeling to this look...
Balmain Homme Spring Summer 2011

Rather than analysing why Olivier Rousteing's 1st Balmain Homme collection (Spring Summer 2012) played so safe to what Christophe Decarnin has done... I will comment on pieces which I like and some which I feel have evolved, no matter how marginally.

The use of snakeskin is one new material that Olivier Rousteing has injected to his first reign over Balmain Homme. I love that Biker Vest in matte Python which is quite an unusual material for this men's design. Other visible deviation from the 'Decarnin' flavour includes the reinforcing of Balmain's severe skinny tailoring for their sartorial pieces. Tuxedo jackets reworked to become vests, cropped shorter or paired with drop crotch matching pants over boots, send off a totally different rock chic sensibility. Balmain boys no longer need to keep to the usual super tight silhouettes. Think a cross between Rick Owens and Dior Homme.

In keeping with Balmain's unending pursuit of ultimate luxury, Olivier Rousteing presents a beautiful crocodile leather tuxedo jacket that leaves the common man only to admire from a far distance. The presumably exorbitantly priced tuxedo leather jacket may only find Kanye West as its owner since he may be the only fan who can afford this. All in all, this collection casts away some of that 'uncouth' Balmain look (highly frayed and destroyed pieces which we both love and hate) and reinvigorates with a more polished and sophisticated aesthetics.

As for my favourite pieces... I think I am going to snap up more of their TDF biker jeans, this time in lemon sorbet yellow or salmon pink. The jeans get more skinny this time too, which I find very welcoming:-)

Below: I love those pastel coloured Skinny Biker jeans! My favourite look for the collection:-)
Innovation this collection may not be, but highly wearable and $ coercing it will be.

Below: One of my favourite bags from Gucci's Fall WInter 2011 mens collection... Introducing the fabulous and functional Gucci 'Brief-bag'... (Thanks Ridhwan for modelling the bag! U and the bag are made for each other:-P)
Gucci Fall Winter 2011 Mens 'Brief-Bag'

Thanks to the lovely PR ladies of Gucci Singapore, I had the pleasure of previewing their ultra luxurious (not to mention fabulous!) Fall Winter 2011 collection at their showroom last Friday.

There were many drool worthy pieces to covet. But one of the item that makes it to the top of my want list is this Gucci Fall Winter 2011 Mens Brief-bag (inspired by how you would roll up your daily newspaper). Crafted in a variety of soft leathers, from smooth calf to textured boar skin and luxurious exotics... the charm of the bag lies beyond the sumptuous materials. The design is more than meets the eye. Now you see it as a clutch... but do not let your eyes deceived you. Unroll it, rebuckle it and you get a full size briefcase! Don't you find it ingenious?

Below: Transform it from Clutch to briefcase! It's a bag that's more than meets the eye!:-P
Add a personal touch with Gucci's personalisation services... let your initials shine through above the shiny metal buckle. Luxury these days is how you customised it to be your own:-)

Below: Got help from Rachel, Gucci's PR to model the bag in its different incarnation... Clutch or Briefcase.. both are fabulous to the max! Works for ladies too...

Below: The bag is featured prominently on Gucci's Fall Winter 2011 Mens runway...

I love the bag. Versatile, classic and definitely a keeper. Send one my way anyone (sugar daddies?):-P!

Below: Love these Trussardi 1911 Camouflage Print Canvas Laptop Cases... the tribal print jacquard fabric on the front makes it interesting and unique!

Below: As seen on the Spring Summer 2011 lookbook...

Below: Spotted at Milan Mens Fashion Week for SS2012 as well!

Trussardi 1911 Camouflage Print Canvas Laptop Case With Tribal Jacquard Fabric Insert

Speaking of man clutches or 'murses' inspiration... I am not obsessed with these SS2011 Trussardi 1911 Camouflage Canvas Laptop Case With Tribal Jacquard Fabric Insert. That touch of tribal pattern and colours juxtaposed with tough military camouflage pattern is unusual and interesting. Add some ethnic charm:-) It doubles up as a gorgeous and outstanding clutch, which I love.

Comes in 3 colours and retails for an affordable €250 and you also own a piece of Milan Vukmirovic's reign at Trussardi 1911. Fall Winter 2011 is his last collection. More reason to grab them. I love Milan Vukmirovic's take for the brand... unfortunately it's so short lived.

Below: Ethnic inspirations meet English eccentricities? Love the new Burberry Prorsum
Spring Summer 2012 menswear collection...

Below: These appliqué shirts and tees look reminds me of Miu Miu mens Spring Summer 2005...

Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2012 Menswear

Throw in a mix of English eccentricities, craftsmanship and ethnic inspirations... and there you go... Burberry Prorsum's Spring Summer 2012 menswear. Upbeat, wearable, intricately crafted but with enough quirk (check out those dorky knitted caps!) to warrant our consumer dollars. Chrisopher Bailey has done another outstanding job balancing practicality and runway appeal.

“This collection started with our iconic heritage as the foundation, we really wanted to emphasise this feeling of handcrafted pieces, celebrating craftsmanship but always with this playful element. We have taken our icons and played with texture to personalise and give them a real character and charm using colour to highlight the intricate detail that goes into crafting them.’’
Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer

Focus is on outerwear once again. But this time, they are more summer-friendly, with plenty of parka jackets that will not seem like an overkill in summer heat. Silhouettes are given a wide over narrow proportions, with the skinniest of pants often matched with oversized jackets. While the delectable brightly hued pieces definitely garnered a lot of applause, I feel it is the footwear who stole the limelight for this collection.

Those new S2012 footwear is love at first sight! I love them so much that I am going to start a 'shoe fund' for next Spring Summer 2012 dedicated to Burberry Prorsum shoes (I know they will probably cost an arm and leg, so it is good to start saving early). Those thick soles in cock material and navajo fabrics/woven leather mixes are eccentric and fun, making them a must have for any shoe fan. One minor complaint though... the 'wedge sole' look seems inspired from Prada's infamous SS2011 Espadrilles Brogues. And for that matter, the entire ready-to-wear collection reeks of a Miuccia flavour (Think past Prada and Miu Miu collections... Especially Spring Summer 2005). Brand them Prada and they would still feel most at home. Mutual designer inspirations? I guess... which is not necessary a bad thing. What do you guys think?
