Loewe Meccano Mens Oxford in Black

Below: More quirky, indifferent designs from J.W. Anderson's Loewe collection... This time I love the Meccano inspired (A type of construction toy kit from yesteryear) black oxfords where a conventional mens shoe design gets a makeover with colour and personality! Love the detachable cut-out leather piece that gives the shoe their uniqueness:-) (Streetstyle pic from Style.com)

Below: Featured on the SS2015 lookbook and injects a youthful cool to the model's look...

Loewe Meccano Mens Oxford in Black

JW Anderson’s debut Spring Summer 2015 Mens Collection for Loewe has been highly anticipated by many in the fashion industry. Taking the Spanish luxury label to a refreshed and younger era, the collection is filled with many avant garde accessories that speaks volumes of Anderson’s highly original and androgynous style.

Part of the  pre-launch collection for JW Anderson’s Loewe collection, the Meccano inspired (a toy model construction system conceived by Frank Hornby in 1898) range of accessories evoke a sense of naivety and graphic children’s toys. One of my favourite piece from the collection is the Meccano Black Oxford (SGD1390) which feature a detachable multi-colour decorative leather ‘tongue’ that adds colour and interesting graphic detail against the all black leather. Cream coloured leather laces provides another layer of contrast and the final composition is one that is refreshingly quirky. Holds true to the collection’s concept of hyper-normality: Realistic, functional and utterly desirable. A simple black conventional oxford transformed and modernised.

Check out the streetstyle pic above of this guy from Milan Mens Fashion Week (FW2015) spotting the exact same pair... I love all those yellows and coral reds from the graphic cutouts making the shoe charmingly cute. Perfect to go with denim or knitwear as shown in Loewe’s SS2015 ad campaign. J.W. Anderson is definitely on the right track to inject newness to the brand. I’d wear these in a heartbeat!

Dries Van Noten Spring Summer 2015 Gio Vest With Bullion Embroidery

Below: In love with this Dries Van Noten Spring Summer 2015 Gio Vest... all that rich bullion embroidery and the ability to create 'warm-weather friendly' layered looks get my vote for investment piece of the season! Love how stylist Declan Chan looked with the vest during the recent Milan Mens Fashion Week... (Streetstyle image from JPMV)
Below: One shoulder 'strap-on harness' design for a cool edgy style... Best of all, it can work with exisiting pieces from your wardrobe.

Below: As seen on Dries Van Noten's SS2015 runway...

Dries Van Noten Spring Summer 2015 Gio Vest with Bullion Embroidery

Spring Summer 2015 menswear has offered us boys a diverse range of looks that spoils us with choices for the new season. From sports theme tailored ensembles to skinny rock star boys... the possibilities are only limited to one’s imagination.

For me, I am looking for a standout piece that is different and unique, something easy to pull off and not scream ‘trying too hard’. Of course, warm-weather friendly is a must too. Sounds like a tall order? Perhaps... But not after browsing thru Dries Van Noten’s highly admirable collection for SS2015. I just found my ‘investment’ piece of the season.

If you observe the designer’s collection, there is one key piece that recurred in many looks, used more like an accessory rather than clothing. I am talking about the SS2015 Dries Van Noten’s Bullion Embroidered ‘Gio Vest’!

Interesting concept of a harness meets vest, this one shoulder strap-on blends ‘couture-ish’ details with fetish-like body straps (’Fetish flourish’ as Tim Blanks from Style.comreviewed). The Gio Vest may be a simple add on, but when worn, it creates that layered look we all so yearned during cold winter but can't over hot summer. The light weight piece eliminates need for excessive bulk and layers while the embroidered bullion details evoke richness and baroque charm... all at the same time maintaining a cool street edge. A useful piece that can work with existing wardrobe without needing to invest in a whole tonne of new pieces.

Just look at stylist Declan Chan (a streetstyle photographer’s favourite) during the recent Milan Mens Fashion Week... he wore the Gio Vest over a simple all-black look. The Gio Vest breaks the monotony and layers up perfectly over his blazer and T-shirt. Edgy layering effect that I love but sans the heavy bulk. (Milan Vukmirovic another of my style idol, wore a sporty bomber jacket with a similar attached harness for a fresh mix of couture chic and street appeal. But I prefer the vest as a separate.)

The Gio vest is versatile enough that it also works with simple t-shirts, shirts or over blazers and coats. Imagine all the mileage you can get from this one outstanding piece. Best of all, Dries Van Noten can never go wrong!
Convinced you need this? If your answer is YES:-P Head over to www.club21global.com which stocks the vest for USD992 or www.thecorner.com which retails for £570.

Below: Milan Vukmirovic spotted in Paris with a similar look, in a bias zip closure bomber jacket with attached harness piece. Super chic!

Gender Bending Menswear For Fall Winter 2015

Below: The idea of Gender Bending fashion gets profound in the latest Fall Winter 2015 menswear... are you ready to embrace a touch of femininity this year end?
Gender Bending Menswear For Fall Winter 2015

Gender equality has progressed far and wide in this modern age. Men are no longer exclusive as the dominant gender in the context of opportunities and success. Fashion being a good reflection of social phenomenon, has seen acceptance of women power dressing with their man's wardrobe. Often applauded than frowned upon. But what if the reverse happened? Men borrowing from the fairer gender has always been a topic of debate. It’s not an entirely new concept and yet always a cause for discussion.

The latest Fall Winter 2015 mens collection across Europe made this gender bending proposition more profound than other menswear seasons. Post Frida Giannini’s Gucci tops the talking point with a feminism infused menswear offering of lacy tops, pussy-bows and languid silhouettes. And several other designers like Prada, J.W. Anderson and Christopher Kane are all leaning on to this new male aesthetic.

Below: Interesting articles I found with insights on this phenomenon in the latest Fall Winter 2015 menswear collections... (links to these articles below)
Here’s 2 articles that I found which shed some interesting insights on this newfound expression of masculinity. Read on:

Burberry Prorsum Fall Winter 2013 Slim Fit 'Hearts' Print Shirt

Below: Last winter, it was the Fox Print Shirt, this Fall Winter 2013 I am head over heels for Burberry Prorsum's Slim Fit Hearts Print shirt... Look how fun it looks especially when styled with a Jil Sander SS2013 Portfolio Bag:-P
Be Still My Heart: Burberry Prorsum Fall Winter 2013 Slim Fit Hearts Print Shirt

Burberry Prorsum does it again. I have fallen in love with their Fall Winter 2012 Fox Print graphic print shirt then and now I am head over heels with their latest Fall Winter 2013 ‘Hearts’ Print shirt. Highly recognisable with the print, it’s a statement piece yet again to steal some attention upon yourself. Wear under a blazer or wear it proud and out, this is one shirt that speaks fun and charm for winter time. No wonder celebrities like One Direction’s Harry Styles and Taiwanese actor Chen Bolin all favoured this shirt. Comes in a variety of colours such as Burgundy and brown, and featured in jumpers and t-shirts too. The blue version of the shirt is my pick and retails for £366 at Mr Porter if you are as keen as me:-P There’s indeed LOVE at first sight in the fashion world.

Below: This pic affirms the appeal of Céline bags on guys... Masculine style complimented by Céline's Canvas Phantom Luggage Tote perfectly! I want one now!
A Guy Friendly Céline Bag: The Canvas Phantom Luggage Tote

Céline has been known for their gender neutral designs, especially when it comes to their bags, which have been readily adopted by many guys. It is no longer strange to see men carrying popular Céline designs, from luggage totes to cabas. However, I am always excited tby pics of guys toting their Céline arm candy. The Céline appeal is simply unstoppable.

Today I am inspired by this pic of a guy toting the Céline Phantom Cabas in Canvas, affirming the bag’s masculine appeal. The pic demonstrates tough guys can work the right Céline bag! The rugged military green canvas, generous sizing and minimal details make this Spring Summer 2012 offering a great compliment to male styles. Sweatshirt Frenzy For Fall Winter 2013: Kenzo, Givenchy And More!

Below: Sweatshirt frenzy continues for Fall Winter 2013... what was once a garment reserved for sports, it's now a major fashion statement... Thanks to Givenchy and Kenzo who propelled Sweatshirts to fashion stardom with their eye catching prints and colours.
Below: Brands are realising the unstoppable appeal of sweatshirts... so look out for more options to appeal to different tastes... From Carven's Michael Wolf photo print to Ami's rustic Bear heads... there's one for everyone:-)
The Unstoppable Sweatshirt Frenzy: Givenchy, Kenzo And More!

What was once reserved for the sporting arena or the gym... is a now huge fashion star. Yes, I am talking about the much frenzied Sweatshirt. Thanks to Givenchy and Kenzo, 2 of the pioneers who put this once boring and unsightly garment into the fashion forefront. Credit goes to them for their bold colours and eye catching prints such as the Tiger and Rottweiler. Now everyone wants a piece of the sweatshirt action. They sell out fast and often do not even last till the sales. Guys also find more wear in sweatshirts than high maintenance wools, making them a useful and wearable piece to add to their wardrobe.

Relatively low cost and easy to manufacture, brands understood the potential of this money making fashion phenomenon. So for Fall Winter 2013, look out for many more options if you are just getting into the sweatshirt showdown. French label, Ami has a quirky bear head design and Carven featured a graphic antler and Michaeal Wolf photographic print for theirs. Balenciaga continues their Sci-Fi Egyptian antics while fast rising Italian brand MSGM churns out the most eye catching quilted florals and abstract camouflage prints. Of course, veteran Givenchy and Kenzo are still unstoppable as leaders in sweatshirt designs. Doberman prints ensure sell out for Givenchy while Tiger heads, funky eyes and cloud prints continue to appeal for Kenzo.

Below: Kenzo is still the undisputed leader in sweater shirt designs... for Fall Winter 2013, look out for Eye icons, Tiger heads and cool Cloud pattern:-P

Below: Fast rising Italian label, MSGM has amazing quilted florals and camo prints while Balenciaga proposed Sci-fi Egyptian motifs. McQ (Alexander McQueen)'s swallow print versions are just as fun:-)

Which sweatshirts are you ready to adopt for this Fall Winter 2013? Just in time to keep you warm and toasty while making a fashion statement for the new season!

Armie Hammer Wears Gucci At 'The Lone Ranger' London Premiere

Below: A standout colour befitting a rising young movie star... Armie Hammer looking extra dashing in Gucci's Spring Summer 2013 suit... Hot!
Standout Colour For A Rising Star: Armie Hammer In A Striking Red Gucci Suit

Not many guys dare to brave full on red when it comes to wardrobe choices. More often than not, overwhelming amounts of crimson tones make you standout for the wrong reasons. However, for rising star and leading man of movie 'The Lone Ranger', Armie Hammer, it's totally different scenario. Thank goodness for Gucci's ultra modern and slim fitted Spring Summer 2013 red suit, not even veteran megastar Johnny Depp stand a chance when the two photographed together. Armie looked dashing and a standout at 'The Lone Ranger' Premiere in London recently.

I love Armie Hammer's look. Gucci has definitely picked up the right group of young handsome movie celebrities to show off their collections. From Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds and now Armie Hammer... all the swoon worthy young male stars are pushing the brand to be even more aspirational and desirable.

Excuse me... I shall end my blog post now and go admire Armie's flawless facial skin. WOW!

(Armie Hammer is married. So gals and gays, he is taken and plays on the other team:-P)

Below: Braving a full on red suit pays off for Armie... Not even veteran star Johnny Depp stands a chance against Armie's good looks and that striking red suit! Agree?:-P

Burberry Prorsum Fall Winter 2013 Giraffe Print T-shirt

Below: Get some bold prints going this Fall Winter 2013... Burberry Prorsum's monotone Giraffe Print T-shirt as seen on Tinie Tempah is graphic without being brash and camp. A great way to wear pattern for guys!
Bold Prints For Winter: Burberry Prorsum Fall Winter 2013 Giraffe Print T-shirt

When we think of Safari or jungle themed prints... Leopards, Tigers, Zebras comes instantly to mind. So it is refreshing when Burberry Prorsum throws in a graphic giraffe print for their Fall Winter 2013. I don’t know why, but the bold patches in monotone looked simply chic, outstanding but not cluttered or camp. Tinie Tempah wore one when he attended the recent Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2014 mens show in London. Matched with a pair of cropped trousers and black lace-ups... the look is simple but not boring. The shirt’s bold prints ensures that. Great for layering under winter outerwear. A great way to wear prints for winter. Must have!

Flower Power For Menswear Spring Summer 2014

Below: Many designers are proposing floral prints for their SS2014 mens collection... I love Prada's rendition the most, especially on those quirky bags and sweaters:-) Flower power is invading next Summer!
Below: Dries Van Noten, Ami and Gucci are all embracing flower motifs for their SS2014 menswear...

Floral Prints For Spring Summer 2014 Menswear

Call it feminine or sissy all you want... the boys of Spring Summer 2014 wears flamboyant and brightly coloured floral prints. Yes, designers from Prada, Dries Van Noten, Ami, Gucci and even Givenchy (Pre-spring 2014) are all embracing the concept of florals on guys.

Loving Prada’s rendition of a ‘menacing paradise’ which sees Hawaiian inspired florals given new languid beauty in bright bursts of burgundys and blues. Translated on ready to wear to 'definite sell-out’ bags and luggage tags... I see another hit collection cashing in big bucks for the brand next year.

Dries Van Noten’s fearless but tasteful proposition of florals vs. masculinity is quite a visual treat too. Gold bullion embroidery juxtaposes with swirling floral patterns, in sometimes feminine fabrications challenges even the most daring fashion guys to embrace their softer side.

Ami took the flower prints in a tropical paradise and weave in an endearing story of guys on the move at airports. Be it holiday makers or business executives, their worlds meet and greet, bringing a sense of familiarity to the clothes, relatable to guys who travels. Tropical flower prints simply beckons for holidays:-)

Gucci also sent a series of heavily decorated floral looks down their runway... exemplifying Italian charm and a luxurious athletic direction, thoughtfully soften with flower motifs.

Next year will be a visually exciting fashion summer. Get ready for the invasion of flower power!

Mens Streetstyle At Milan Mens Fashion Week: Spring Summer 2014

Below: What the boys wore at Milan Mens Fashion Week SS2014... Which looks inspire you? I know Milan Vukmirovic is my style idol. Love him in his denim shirt with interesting ethnic embroidered shoulder details... Dolce & Gabbana's SS2013 full-on printed shirt is also outstanding!
Below: Trainers are an indispensable style statement for men now... so get a pair the likes of Valentino's highly coveted Rockrunner trainers or sporty Nikes and New Balances...
What The Men Wore: Milan Mens Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014

Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014 has come to a close... and what have the boys wore during the shows? I have collected many pictures from different streetstyle photographers to give us an insight into what’s favoured by fashion savvy guys this season.

There seems to many varied styles in Milan, unlike Pitti Uomo which is more sartorial. But one thing’s constant over both events, every fashion savvy guy needs a pair of trainers! Match with suits or chinos or shorts, it’s the go-to footwear to stay on trend. I especially love those Valentino Rockrunner Trainers for their luxurious designs in brilliant colours and camouflage pattern.

Prints are also rampant... be it subtle, like micro dots and shapes or all out brash with full on imagery. Portfolio bags are indispensable too. Boys just love their 'man clutches'. Which looks are inspiring you? All in all, dress right to show your personality and fit your body type. There's a thin line between fashionable and fashion victim. More importantly, feel confident and have fun, dressing up should be enjoyed and not frowned upon. (Also watch Mr Porter's clip (above) on what's spotted at Milan Fashion Week this season. Insightful)

Below: A well cut blazer is the perfect fashion week outfit! Navy colour is classic and can never go wrong:-) Or if you are getting more adventurous, try one with subtle prints...

Mens Streetstyle At Pitti Uomo 84: Spring Summer 2014

Below: Streetstyle spotting at Pitti Uomo 84: Spring Summer 2014... What the boys are wearing now...

What The Men Wore At Pitti Uomo 84 Spring Summer 2014

Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy is one of the most important event in men’s fashion calendar. Known for the more classic line-up of brands presenting at the tradeshow, elegant gentlemen often flood the streets during this time. I love collecting streetstyle pics from Pitti Uomo, which showed us classics and good sense of style are not always flashy and fleeting.

So what are the boys wearing while attending Pitti Uomo 84: Spring Summer 2014?

Prints are the rage this time around, or more specifically, florals. Mini ones, huge hawaiian versions or graphic interpretations... boys can’t get enough of colours and flowers as much as ladies.

Balanced well, are the ever classic masculine blue/navy blues where blazer, jackets and shirts are spotted on many well clad gentlemen. Mr Porter has a video showcasing how a navy blazer is such a versatile piece in any men’s wardrobe, that can fit in many different occasions, from formal to casual. Watch it and get inspired (See video clip below).

Below: You never go out of style with blue... it's a colour that transcend trends, which works for men of all types. Blazer, trousers, shirts and even bags are spotted on plenty of guys at the recently over Pitti Uomo...

So what do you like about the current wardrobe choices of the men at Pitti Uomo this season?

Ryan Reynolds And John Legend: Gucci Blue Nappa Leather Jacket

Below: Inspiration of the day... Bright blue for a pop of colour. Ryan Reynolds shows us how to wear tone on tone blue... l am adoring his Gucci Nappa Leather Jacket:-P
Yes To Blue: Ryan Reynolds & John Legend Wears Gucci Blue Nappa Leather Jacket

Heart throb Ryan Reynolds was spotted last week in London with Blake Lively for Gucci's "Chime For Change" charity concert. Ryan himself is already a sight to behold, but his all blue outfit makes him even more attractive. Most noteworthy, his bright blue Gucci Nappa Leather Jacket, slim fitted to perfection, complimenting the matching blue trousers, shirt and tie and of course his hot bod. He looks good both clean shaven or with stubble. Drool time officially starts...

Piling tone on tone of the same hue is an easy way to wear colour. I give Ryan credit for working some fashion inspiration. I am inspired to wear the colour now!

Singer John Legend was photographed wearing the same Gucci blue nappa leather jacket earlier this year, while attending “The Sound Of Change Live” premiere at the Corinthia Hotel in London, United Kingdom. Who do you think wore the jacket better? My vote goes to Ryan of course, except he should have worn his tight jeans slightly lower on the waist. Let your 'family jewels' have some breathing space!

Self reminder, I need to dig out some bright blues for this coming weekend:-)

My MANy Bags Trendspotting #208

Below: WIll-i-am sure knows how to make a fashion statement. With Christian Louboutin SS2013 Bleached Denim Rollerboy Spikes and Saint Laurent's tuxedo jacket both on him... he is definitely fashion noteworthy!
Will-i-am In Christian Louboutin And Saint Laurent

What could be more envy inducing than to be spotted wearing 2 of the most coveted brands in Fashion right now? Christian Louboutin and Saint Laurent do make for a formidable attention grabbing duo. And Will-i-am knows that.

He was spotted wearing a pair of Spring Summer 2013 Christian Louboutin Rollerboy Spikes in Bleached Denim while clad in a gorgeous Saint Laurent shimmery green-black textured polyester jacquard one-button tuxedo jacket. I love the cropped proportion of the very skinny jacket juxaposed with the more casual but edgy Christian Louboutin Rollerboy spikes. Shimmer and spikes: Talk about a standout... Nice job Will-i-am!

Below: Saint Laurent tuxedo jacket... A gorgeous attention worthy piece for all parties and red carpet!
