A Writing Instrument To Honour The Father Of Literary Realism: Montblanc Writers Edition 2013 - Honoré de Balzac

A true modern dandy pays attention to all aspects of his lifestyle. Clothes may make the man, but there are all the fine little details that complete this aspiration. Watches for example speak volumes about his personality and taste, as does his worldly intelligence and graceful etiquettes. But when it comes down to putting his signature and expressing himself in words, good writing instruments are indispensable.

Montblanc have been making the most exquisite pens all these years. And they just keep getting better. This month, in honour of Honoré de Balzac, a French literary artist, Montblanc introduces its Writers Edition 2013 celebrating the epic contribution to world literature of this 19th century visionary. Honoré de Balzac (1799 – 1850) has been regarded as one of the greatest novelists of all time, admired for his vivid portrayal of 19th century society with all the complex human characters, objects and environments that made up this rapidly changing world. The meticulous detailing of these fine writing instruments mirrors the extraordinary attention to detail that was so important to Balzac in his writing.

Be in awe at the precious black resin and grey lacquer of the barrel, with its guilloche refinement, references the typical cutaway of the trousers favoured by refined Parisian gentlemen. While the oversized shape of the pen mirrors Balzac’s bold stature, the clip embellished with turquoise lacquering on its top symbolizes the author’s richly decorated walking cane. Balzac’s very own initials are also finely lasered on therhodium-plated Au 750 gold nib.

This is true testament to Montblanc’s attention to detail and dedication to their craft of the world’s most refined luxury. The Montblanc Writers Edition 2013: Honoré de Balzac collection includes a fountain pen, roller ball pen, ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil and are available at Montblanc stores now.

Below: Choose from fountain pens, roller ball pens, ballpoint pens and mechanical pencil, all bearing unique and finely crafted details one can only expect from Montblanc. Truly a befitting tribute to Honoré de Balzac, The Father Of Literary Realism...
