The Material Boy #130

Lanvin Glazed Oxford Leather Shoe

Lanvin is fast becoming one of my favourite luxury brands. Although I may not see myself being able to carry the look of the clothes, I do adore their accessories, especially the shoes:-)

(And this fall season, I have seen another refreshing metallic blue coloured lace-ups and a cool pewter beetle brooch at Club 21 mens. So tempted to buy:-P.)

Time and time again, they created combinations of colours and materials for footwear that is refreshing and unique and gets me going shoe crazy. Here's is their take on a classic pair of simple black lace-ups.

This pair of Glazed Leather Oxfords features a square toe, and has riveted shoe lace holes. This pair of shoe is not anything revolutionary in design. But a little tweak on the detailing updates this classic pair of shoe to look fresh and modern and yet dandy and chic. I love it that they use flat laces instead of the normal round ones. The shoe is just beautiful, it definitely makes a man look stylish and elegant. Well, afterall, shoes do make the man and completes an outfit:-)

Retail price: UK 490 pounds. Where to buy: www.brownsfashion.com

Someone kill me....I need this pair of shoes.

It reminds me of my glazed Balenciaga laceups from FW 07/08.

GORGEOUS!!!

I really like the lack-finish (do you call it that?). I wonder if they are availeble in Copenhagen....

you mean the 'lacquered' finish?

I hope they are available in your area Paolo.:-) Then you will have an extra choice of brands to choose from.:-)

Not sure about that. Today when I was there, the first level which is where Lanvin is being displayed has been completely cleared to make way for Jil Sander. They had to convert the whole first level to Jil Sander becos of the event last friday and the arrival of 3 Jil Sander presidents. Next weekend they will have more new stock! Go check out next weekend!

It's here. But not in the colour that i want. They only have it in metallic silver which i don't think i can pull off. Even if i could, my boss is not going to take it very well ha ha ;-)

Anyway I saw another pair while "glancing" through the new stuff at Club 21 yesterday. *ALERT* Opps i did it again! I bought the newly arrived Balenciaga laceups. It is just as gorgeous as the Lanvin. In fact I did not see this pair in any of the Balenciaga F/W08 looks on its website. Anyhow, i bought it in a heartbeat. Well I did try it on for size ..that's for sure! ha ha. Well I am now officially a fan of Balenciaga laceups. 2 pairs and counting. I heart Balenciaga. Almost bought the sweater as well but too bad no more sizes. *thank goodness* CLUB21 is that merciless!

The almighty fashion gods of Club 21 is not to be denied:-P So you just have to buy what they offer you...that is the retail power of Club 21...hehe. I dun dare to step into the temple unless I have $$$$ to buy something. It's too tempting!

Congrats on your purchase! Must send me pics! I wanna see!

Got the pic from Joseph's (00oo00) blog.

He featured the boot version which is also delectable. But thank the holy spirits C21 only brought in the laced up version. I like the unique embossed "wing-tip" effect that was created. Very ingenious.

Now i'm looking to buy that balenciaga sweater that they ran out of sizes. Any idea which trusted online store i can try my luck?

Balenciaga has very limited and restricted distribution online. Your best bet is www.matchesfashion.com or www.diabro.net. Matches should be credible...diabro, some day they are careful..but I have bought from them before and they do sell real stuff.
