Japanese designer Ato Matsumo's Spring Summer 2010 collections sees an uncanny resemblance in the jeans and biker pants presented. Balmain anyone? Just look at the ribbed panel details on the thighs... Isn't it a bit too late to do an 'inspired version' after Balmain's signature jeans design took the fashion world by storm this fall winter 2009? (None in good sizes lasted till the seasonal sales everywhere!) Tsk tsk tsk...

For those who didn't snag the Balmain biker jeans, the Ato ones would be heaven sent! hey, they may not have Balmain on it, but the way it's constructed is pretty cool. Rugged!
I say inspired. Everyone copies everything. Street style to high end labels... it's a cycle that never sees any stopping. As long as it didn't copy the "original" detail by detail, then I say inspired.
