My MANy Bags News #321

Below: My 'style hero' Brad Goreski demonstrating how fabulous those Christian Louboutin Freddy Flats in White are... I should have gotten them when I had the chance!

Below: This is how you should 'milk' your $$$ worth of your Christian Louboutins!

Brad Goreski And His Christian Louboutin Freddy Flats Spikes In White

I want to adopt Brad Goreski's wardrobe... or at the very least his shoe closet. Brad has the most amazing collection of footwear... mostly comprising those TDF Christian Louboutins!

Below: Brad's shoes... I love the Louis Pik Pik and those Prada Wingtips Espadrilles, or even the metallic Lanvin x H&M lace-ups!

Love his Louis Pik Pik or those rhinestone studded versions... but most of all, I adore his White Freddy Flat Spikes. I had the chance to purchase them at a sale... but I did not:-( Major shopping regrets now... seeing how fabulous Brad looked (In fact he looked good in anything or nothing! (I mean bare bodied only. What were you thinking!#!#!):-P

Brad also demonstrates his love for his Freddy Flat Spikes... see how much mileage he has gotten out of them. The worn out soles gave a good indication! This is how you should milk your money's worth of Christian Louboutins:-p

We heart Christian Louboutin!

Men In Bloom

Spring Summer is here. Dull Winters are over (at least in the fashion calendar). So let nature takes its course and welcome back colours and flamboyance into our wardrobes.

This Spring Summer 2011, men are 'blooming'...and I mean literally blooming. So many flower prints running amok on the men's Spring Summer 2011 collections. Designers have unabashedly introduced flower themes from small paisley, big motifs to tropical Hawaiian prints in their collections. Boys, it's time to let your sensitive side flourish... time to outshine our dear female counterparts.

Are you ready to be a man in bloom?

Below: Anyone for furry 'bag friends'? Céline's Pre-Fall 2011 collection sees abundance of these furry bag charms hooked onto those delectable bags and clutches... I am already wishlisting it, have you?

Below: A touch of winter luxe on any bags, even small clutches! Me like!

Below: Céline's neutral shades in Black or whites are perfect to accent the colours in her pre-fall 2011 collection. Fur goes so well with tweeds, plaids and wools...

Below: I am definitely getting one to hook on to the clutches come next Fall Winter 2011...

A Tale Of The Furry Tails...

Over the past few seasons I have noticed the rise of the 'furry tail' bag charms in fashion. Often than not, they become highly coveted 'pets'... a cuddly companion to accompany your beloved arm candies. These 'touch-inducing' bag accessory can be traced all the way back to Fall Winter 2007 (all thanks to Gucci's Frida Giannini) as a smaller version endearingly hooked onto the bags at Gucci's Fall Winter 2007 mens collection. What a touch of winter luxe that sends me all the way to Paris to hunt one down for myself.

Below: I first notice our 'furry friends' debuting in Gucci's Fall Winter 2007 mens collection... smaller in size and in shades of brown to mimick the 'tails' of the racoon...

Fast forward to Spring Summer 2010, the full glory of these furry tails exploded into fashion stardom (not to mention collector's frenzy) with Louis Vuitton's multi-coloured and 'bank account' draining versions, bigger and better! I hear many were disappointed as these LV furry tails were some of the hardest to track down then. Demand was overwhelming despite their astronomical price tags.

Below: Louis Vuitton took these little 'furry cuties' to fashion stardom in Spring Summer 2010, multiplying them in size, splashing them in hot pinks and greens! Everyone wants them!

If anyone misses out on these charming furries, Fret not...

There is light at the end of the 'fashion tunnel'... Our furry tail friends are back with another 'season of vengeance'. Thanks to Phoebe Philo who proposes these furry bag charms as a key accessory for her Céline Pre-fall 2011 collection. A must-have in the collection that is seen on every look, fashionably attached to Céline's delectable clutches and bags. Call it a new level of minimalist luxe. I adore her black and white pared down interpretations.

I am signing up for one right this moment... anyone else joining me?:-P Winter 2011 please come fast!!!

Below: Plaid, one of the most prominent patterns on Italian men right now... on jackets...

Below: in bright reds...

Below: on scarves and pocket squares...

Below: as green and on blousons... Plaids are everyhwere! Classic flair is back!

Below: Footwear of choice for these 'gentlemen'... Classic brogues!

Below: Brogues styles are huge... even in quirky thick soled versions...

Below: Or boot soled designs...

The Undying Classics: Plaids And Brogues

It's a PLAID Winter this Fall 2010 season... A week in Milan Fashion week and Pitti Uomo in Florence (for Fall Winter 2011 collections) and Tommy Ton (Jak and Jil) has managed to capture what real men are wearing in the Italian Fashion capital at this moment.

It's evident, Plaid is huge (and I have observed this trend when I was in Tokyo early December 2010, did a lookbook post based on Plaid Patterns too)... red, blue, green... Scottish, English gentlemenly styles are IN. This is one 'classic revival' season, less severe military, more refined debonair charm.

And footwear of choice? Of course, something as classic as Brogues. And perhaps Prada's statement making Spring Summer 2011 colourful 'platform' brogues have a huge part to play... all the boys wants this footwear style ( be it as boots, lace-ups or those thick soled versions by Prada!).

I am now dreaming of plaid' and 'Brogues' already...INSPIRED!

Balenciaga RGGH Canard Part-Time

It's a long overdue post for my latest bag addition acquired a few months back...

But better late than never (especially since I am off for the week and had time on my hands like never before! Hurray!)... so let me introduce my new Balenciaga RGGH (Rose Gold Giant Hardware) Canard Part-Time.

Boys have always been restricted to the weekender, courier and day designs when it comes to adopting Balenciaga bags. But I decided on a particular inspiring day many months ago to try out other styles of Balenciaga bags just for fun.

Interestingly, although I had no plans to buy anything... it seems my 'shopping ban' plan always backfire. In the name of research for my blog (good excuse to shop!) but at the expense of my bank account, I embark on the 'treacherous' mission and have to report that I have succeeded in testing the Balenciaga bags but failed to rescue my bank account.

Work bag is simply too short and small for my height. Weekender is too bulky for everyday. And First and Town is tiny for boys. I love the strap options for City...but that is too small again. So what's left is the Part-time which I was skeptical at first due to it's long shape. Surprisingly, at a length of aprox. 43cm, the Part-time resembles a small duffel bag. When I first shoulder sling it, I was immediately taken by the proportion of the bag against my height (I am 178cm tall) and build. I love the style, easy and non cumbersome. It does not looked entirely inappropriate for a guy and yet interesting enough to pass off as a guy's bag. I guess a bag is a bag, it is what marketing wants to sell it as, especially bags of a borderline gender designs. Hence the Part-time is up to the individual to see what works for him or not.

But one thing's for sure, I am liking the Balenciaga Part-time on me, especially with the new Giant Rose Gold Hardware against Canard colour (a turquoise based dark blue)... it's versatile and yet glamourous at the same time! I also love the double zipper pulls and the shorter shoulder strap which presents another option to carry the bag. Perfect for blazers and skinny jeans.

So out flashes my Visa card, in goes the Balenciaga RGGH Canard Part-time to my 'bag family'. Welcome! Welcome!:-P

Below: Céline's minimalist design for bags makes them favoured not only by women,
but guys as well... Love this simple tote!

Below: Céline luggage tote on a guy... yes or no? One thing's for sure, this is one hot bag to be seen with!

Céline Bags And Men...

Céline's bags have been coveted by women all over the world. Even men wants a piece of the Céline action, thanks to the genderless designs by Phoebe Philo.

More pics of guys toting Céline:-)

Pic 1:

Why did my 'shopping radar' let slip this gorgeous Céline tote from Spring Summer 2010? Look at the size and the front pocket... Love its simplicity. This pic is yet another great example that Céline bags can be so gender bending that men can carry them as if the bag were made for them....

LOVE! Now where to track this Spring Summer 2010 baby?!?!

Céline Luggage Tote is one of the most recognisable bags amongst Céline's bag designs. Guys and girls alike love the roomy and structured design:-P

Below: Double denim, double the comfort and cool factor! Contrasting shades of blue...

Below: Monotone blues...with motifs...

Below: Ladies, add a turban or headgear to stand out and be unexpected...

Below: or layer with the hottest shade of the moment, anything camel coloured...

Below: Dress the look up with a luxurious touch... Chanel Bag!

Below: Look all sweet and 'country' all buttoned up...

Below: Hot heels and red lips to sex up the look...

Double Denim

On some days you want the clothes to dress you up, and on other days, you just want to be comfortable and functional without having to worry about rubs, tucks, creases or dirt.

Good news, it seems the denim on denim look is gaining momentum now. Double denim, top to toe denim, with denim shirts and jeans, how much more eased up and comfy can you get? Utility meets fashion (at least for the time being the look is deemed a cool trend, so wear your worth of the look before the interest fades off).

But easy does not mean sloppy. To add more depth to the 'tough up' ensemble, try adding accessories like a cool bracelet, turban (fabulous!), fur jacket, a glamour belt and killer heels (for ladies). Or layer with a spot of camel ala Chloé to further your fashion experimentation.

Denim is the rage. Guys, the look applies to us too. Go tone on tone or contrasting shades. Pair with boots for full on tough out urban rider cool. Add shades to look extra suave.

My Shoe Collection #47

Céline Laced Flat Sandals

Ever since Phoebe Philo helms the creative director role at Céline, the brand has taken leaps into the new millennium of power dressing, in a neutral, minimalist way which took the fashion world by storm. Everyone's mimicking the Phoebe Philo's Céline look. Devoid of frilly details, Phoebe's collections somewhat steers into masculine feminine territory and some pieces are even suitable for guys.

That is the reason why I decided to get this pair of Céline Lace Flat Sandals (from the Spring Summer 2010 collection) when it goes on 50% sale recently. I found another pair from Ann Demeulemeester which closely resembles the design but in a more severe manner (with more lace loops and metal eyelets), which I equally like. However, in the end, I got the Céline's pair since the Ann D. version can be found nowhere.

Wear it with shorts and it's an interesting footwear that adds a touch of urban warrior in you.
