J. Lindeberg Fall Winter 2010 Menswear

Swedish label, J. Lindeberg has kindly shared with me their latest Fall Winter 2010 Men's collection which I am loving very much. Titled 'The True North', the collection draws its inspirations from the adventures of early explorers of the highest mountains, remote landscapes and solitary wilderness. The clothes are cut with functionality in mind while staying elegant.

This first collection under the creative direction of Pierangelo D'Agostin (former head designer at Jil Sander), based his designs on utility and function found in work gear as evolved through generations of the army, the navy, hunters and farmer. Heralding back to a time where clothes were long lasting and crafted with a mission for survival.

These authentic garments have been shaped, further developed with technical fabric mixes and construction methods, while remaining true to their heritage. New cropped proportions are reworked to provided a neater and more precise silhouette. And classic tailoring are combined with modern functionality. The deep and intense colours range from icy blue skies to purple black nights and the numerous shades of grey found in the horizon of Scandinavia during the winter form the palette. These are contrasted against vibrant hues of the ever transforming colours of autumnal leaves.

"It¹s all about contrasts; in spirits, moods, colours and fabrics. The urban speed of life versus the serenity and tranquillity of nature" claimed Artistic Director, Pierangelo D'Agostin.

A highly savvy collection with that does not rely on over zealous or over the top explosion of details, but stresses on creating refined, functional clothing that any modern gentlemen will covet. These are pieces that stay in their wardrobe for many seasons to come. My favourite look, the grey cropped padded jacket that has been matched with white slim jeans and tan leather brogue style boots.

I've been to their store several times and I can't find anything to buy, seriously.

The jacket in the first picture reminds me of Moncler Gamme Bleu, FW 2009.
