D.I.Y Birkin?
If you own a birkin... would you embellished it with a bejewelled exterior? Similar to what Prada did for her bag designs the last 2 seasons... maximalist glamour:-)
Love or hate? Will you D.I.Y decorations onto your own birkin? Or is this considered 'Birkin blasphemy'?

Well doesn't matter. The question is if you own a birkin, would you DIY decorations?
It's a cool idea but not for the Birkin...Why ruin the beauty of it?

a birkin's simplicity is what makes it beautiful..
maybe if you have two birkin : one "normal' and one for fun?!
good thing that's not a real Birkin.
but anyway, if I had a Birkin, I wouldn't do that. they are made from the world's finest leathers. why embellish it? it's like adding whipped cream and flavored syrup to a freshly-brewed cup of Blue Mountain coffee.

I understand why he can DIY his 'birkin' to camouflage that it's a fake? I'm not a birkin expert. But if and when I own a birkin, I will NEVER ruin it by gluing plastic whatnots on it.

Mine is Hermes Birkin 40 Black togo Leather in Silver Hardware...and I checked my bag...there's no rings on the side...wierd...even my 32 brown swift leather kelly...the rings is on the handles for the leather strap...
but if its true Hermes...Good for her guts! Bravo to that!
This is a real birkin. If she had this one custom made for her you can request the ring on the sides to accomodate a strap. I had a HAC custom made for me and requested rings be put on the side. Im not saying its real for sure, but the ring on the side does not make it a fake.

And if i had a Birkin and one day stand up and just think..."my birkin bored me, i need something new" i would see it as an option! Why not if it fits to my style its a great idea to make a unique piece even more unique! And by the way the "argument" that "this is a birkin" and taht its "simplicity" is what makes it beautiful dont change the fact that it remains just a bag!
