Inspiration Tuesday...

Inspiration Tuesday: 'Dark Aspirations'

I am inspired by this guy's simple style, a mix of formal, informal... rough edge with some elements of refined men's dressing. Blazer with black skinny jeans, destroyed tee underneath and combat boots. But for Singapore's hot weather version, I would do it with a pair of gorgeous Ann Demeulemeester 'Bondage' style strap sandals while adding some luxe factor with Hermès Collier De Chien in exotic Ombre Lizard. Of course, all is set and ready to go with the ever style worthy Givenchy Pandora Bag... (the full look which I have done a sketch to illustrate:-p)

I am sure he can sketch...but these days very rare to get art director who can still draw. Some managed without the ability to draw an egg

Love the blazer. Any idea where to get similiar blazers?

My comic book dream sadly went bust due to realities of making it as a living in Singapore + I draw women better than men...so not too balanced. I can do females better than male.

Kinsung,

I think you can easily find these slightly cropped black blazer at Topman. They do wonderful slim cuts.

I did try on Topman skinny blazer but don't find it nice. Maybe I'm not cut out to wear blazers.. Haha. Thanx anyway.. =)
I must say your blog is one of the better ones I have read. Keep up the good work!!

If you have more budget, go for japanese menswear label. The fit is often smaller and more suited for guys who are slim. I just got a crop blazer from Ne-net. Perfect fit. Although sleeves are slightly shorter as it was a deliberate shrunk look.

And CK Calvin Klein has very small sizes this season. Their size 44 blazer is very slim fitted!

D&G also has amazing fit for blazers. but italian cut is often longer in length.

Nice sketch, you should add it to your post more often. Look at all the nice feedback you've got. Comment on finding a skinny blazer; if anyone is small enough, just try women section. There are more selections and fitted to the body.

WOW! i didn't know you draw so well! i say put your sketches with your lookbooks. it's gonna up the ante. i like the look too. those sandals make me quiver. how much are they?

it's kinda hard to draw men too. i find it hard...maybe its coz the lines are so drawn far apart (like to make the body broad and angular). women's bodies are more fun to draw anyway!
