Bottega Veneta Spring Summer 2011 Menswear
I would call the new Bottega Veneta Spring Summer 2011 Menswear collection 'dishevelled chic'. A easy, 'breezy' (as the press release from Bottega Veneta clearly defines) collection that balanced technical rigor of athletic apparel and refined techniques of tailored menswear. Looks that are casually put together and not appearing forced or too polished.
Rumpled, creased, boxy, roomy... something a real guy would nonchalantly wear instead of what a deliberate stylist will mix and match. Down to earth styles that creates the innate desire for regular guys to covet, not just models on the runway. Masculine appeal has continued from the previous Fall Winter season, with military styling and camp green colour as noteworthy themes. There are also rich vermillion reds, celeste blue, black and white to add to the gorgeous spectrum. I love those rolled up shorts, super short to show off gym trained thighs, in tan or camp green hues. Makes me wanna work harder to get those sexy legs! The tote bag of tonal vermillion red and duffel of intrecciato woven details in camp green (yes, I am a fan of olive colour!) are exceptionally outstanding. Gladiator style sandals lends a casual summer feeling, sometimes matched with thick socks (reminiscent of military guys lounging in base camp?) which is always thought to be a fashion faux pas, suddenly looked acceptable with Bottega Veneta's interpretation. Gimme those sexy swim trunks anyday!
“The collection is about performance and possibility, about what happens when you combine materials and techniques in new ways,” says Creative Director Tomas Maier. “We started from the tailoring, because that is what defines a silhouette. From there, the options are endless. It becomes a question of personal style.”

I LOVE this collection! Everything looked so effortless but chic and sexy. The Argentinean models (+Sean Opry) looked so hot!!
That looks like a YSL tote ... with the inverted Y logo ...
I love this collection. I can't wait to see the trunk show this Sept and try on the tops and shorts. The patch work blazer looks amazing too.
