Holiday In Pictures: Phuket's 4 Nights Of Pampering...

Time flies. In a blink of an eye, a week has passed since my last long weekend break in Phuket. And any highlights of a beach vacation is the resort you stayed in. Twinpalms Phuket was my home away from home for this getaway. I was already there in May but decided to return because I got 2 complimentary nights invite voucher for this recent stay. Hence I took advantage of this gracious offer, with me and a friend each booking ourselves a room to pamper and vegetate for the long 'National Day' weekend:-) (yes, I am that patriotic to escape out of the country on my nations' 45th birthday:-P...hahaha)

Twinpalms Resort is located in the much quieter and relaxed Surin beach. The luxurious resort (a member of Small Luxurious Hotels of the World) is contemporary in style, made most notable by the juxtaposition of modern architecture and plenty of tropical greenery. I feel an instant sense of zen calmness as soon as I stepped into the spacious lobby. What welcomes you next is the abundance of palm trees and landscaping at every turn inside the resort. Tyra Banks stayed here before. So I am not expecting less than the best. The rooms are spacious with dark wood flooring, and comes with one of the most generous sized bathroom and vanity area. I was immediately impressed to find the bathroom area as big as the bedroom. It's love at first sight! Especially the huge sunken bath tub where you can laze and frolic in scented bath oils, while admiring the green foliage adorning the windows... Simply heavenly...

The bed is huge and supremely sleep-inducing while the high thread count linens allow you glide with comfort as you drift away to dreamland each night.

Beyond the nice resort, me and my friend also venture out of Surin Beach to savour a bit of the sights and sounds around other areas of Phuket. And of course, food hunting is paramount for any indulgent holidays. My foodie fanatic schoolmate found this restaurant at Patong Beach where we had sumptuous seafood spread (think Garlic butter lobster! Slurp...), that feels sinful after we licked clean our fingers. We also watched 'The Last AirBender' at Jungceylon Shopping Complex in spacious armchair seats, and celebrate the end of our holiday with another savory BBQ dinner at the Catch Beach Club of Twinpalms resort (amazing BBQ Tiger Prawns, Scallops, Shellfish, Crabs are all ours to eat our hearts out...ohlala!), not to mention numerous facials, massages at the hotel spa. What's not to enjoy for a holiday this pampering and indulging. Can't wait to plan my next one.

Here's a recap of my wonderful 'getaway' in pictures... Enjoy!

(Having said all the good things about Twinpalms, it could use some ipod dock in the rooms, better room service menu and keep those mosquitoes and sand flies from making a buffet dinner out of me! Hahaha. Yes, I am sometimes over 'demanding':-P)

It is a nice modern resort, although there are areas that need to be updated. But do not expect to have sea views as the beach is a short walk away. All in all, a very relaxing space for a nice beach getaway:-P
