My Sale Shopping Weekend: DFS Galleria Scottswalk End Of Season Sale Now On

The Great Singapore Sale officially starts this weekend. Have you been wondering where all the good shopping finds are? Look no further... You must head down to DFS Galleria, Scottswalk (Singapore) for a one stop designer/luxury goods shopping experience.

Not only does DFS Galleria Scottswalk (Located along Scotts Road, opposite Far East Plaza) stock an impressive range of designer/luxury brands, they are also having their SS2013 markdowns starting this weekend! 30% off on many brands. In case you are wondering, local Singaporeans can shop there... No customs or passport restrictions unlike what u experienced at airports. DFS Galleria Scottswalk is a true mega shopping mall, except it’s filled with store after store of luxury wares and the most impressive beauty hall in Singapore.

Enough said, I had a great time hunting down sale deals yesterday. Of course I did not go home empty handed. With brands like Bottega Veneta and Gucci commencing their sales before the boutiques, you get a headstart with the sale shopping. I just cannot resist, scored myself a gorgeous Bottega Veneta Coated Canvas tote with a contrasting intrecciomirage leather base. Love the interplay of textures. Very chic, especially when you embellised it with bag charms like my 'mercibeaucoup' quilted flower brooch:-P

Do pop by DFS Galleria Scottswalk today to check out the sales. While you are there, make sure you enjoy the FREE wifi in-store and complimentary facials/eye treatment at Beauty Conceige, Level 1. It's an oasis from the shopping frenzy on Orchard Road:-)

To motivate you further, here’s the many sale gems I found which should not be missed.

The Material Boy #455

Below: Bryanboy’s coverage of Thai Designer JBB* by Jirawat Bote Benchakarn’s Fall Winter 2011 menswear collection (at the recent Singapore Mens Fashion Week) inspired me for some military fashion inspirations this Monday. I need to combat serious Monday blues!

Below: Love these pieces from MR PORTER that carries the military flavour without being too literal...

Below: Most of all, I want this pair of Trussardi 1911 Camouflage Print Espadrilles!
Military Monday: 'Butch' Up!

Inspired by Bryanboy’s pics covering Thai Designer JBB* by Jirawat Bote Benchakarn’s Fall Winter 2011 menswear collection (Shown at the recent Singapore Mens Fashion Week 2011)... I decided I am going to seek ‘military retail enlightenment’ today. Love JBB* by Jirawat Bote Benchakarn’s take on Military Camouflage pattern, pairing it with refined sartorial suiting and shorts. Not entirely a new idea, but I love the contrast these looks create.

Hence, I browsed online and found these lovely pieces to share here. Pieces that fit the military theme without going too literal. Trussardi 1911 has an amazing pair of camouflage print espadrilles (¥43,050) that presents a relax resort feeling...while ready to rough it out in any terrain:-)

Marni’s contrast panel short sleeve shirt (£196) is perhaps the army version of colour blocking, using jersey and cotton fabrics in olive and black tones for effective panelling effect. I love the way the back of the shirt looks... it’s a timeless and interesting piece that will command attention! I also love Burberry Brit’s dark olive green slim fit cargo trousers (£125), which breaks away from the sloppy looser versions and gets you into a more streamlined and smarter silhouette.

Wear all the above pieces together then round it up with Trussardi’s Camouflage Print Laptop Sleeve (use it as a clutch!) ... tada... you have a hot military look, ready to brave thru any Monday Blues!

Marni and Burberry Brit available at MR PORTER: The Mens Style Destination.

Ad Campaigns And Catalogues #73

Below: Click on pics to enlarge for better view. I love this shot most because of the very statement making pieces featured. Those bondage strap men's tee are a must have next Spring Summer! And ladies, the toga style wrapped dress adds some tough chic to your look! Power to the women:-)

Burberry Spring Summer 2010 Ad Campaign

Applause goes to Burberry for consistently supporting British talents as a homegrown luxury brand. Shows the brand values its heritage and values British talents to exemplify the Burberry sensibility.

This Spring Summer 2010, we see the return of Emma Watson who embodies classic, effortless beauty and am incredibly talented. They say good genes run in the family, so Christopher Bailey decides to cast another member of the Watson family, namely Alex Watson, brother of Emma alongside our English belle. Both look just stunning in the campaign. Other cute faces in the cast include Matt Gilmour, Max Hurd and George Craig. Lucky Emma, the 'rose' amongst all the handsome 'thorns'. (Oh how chivalrous the guys are, they even helped to carry Emma's 'women's bags' for her!:-P)

Shot by Mario Testino, the fresh lighting and slightly purple overtones lends a sweet summery feel but contrasted by the military details in the ready to wear pieces. Very interesting:-) I like! This Spring Summer 2010 collection brings back wonderful memories of attending the actual fashion show in London. My first! But will have to give the FW2010 men's show a miss due to work and resource issues. Hope I will be able to attend the Spring Summer 2011 shows! Burberry will always have a special place in my heart:-) Such beautiful clothes and vibe that I get from the brand:-)

Burberry Opens Burberry Brit And Burberry London Stores In 444 Madison Ave, NY

Burberry is fast expanding its footprint in the US. All Burberry fans in NYC have much to rejoice as 2 new stores (for its diffusion lines) have been added to the Burberry empire namely Burberry Brit and Burberry London. Both proud free standing boutiques of 1500 sq metres size takes its rightful place on the north (Burberry London) and south side (Burberry Brit) of their recently opened Burberry America Headquarters.

Burberry Brit emphasizes on the youthful expression of dishevelled elegant casual of the Burberry guy and girl. The more relaxed collection centered around outerwear, the Burberry check and denim.
Burberry London however is all about the much elegant tailored expression of the sophisticated Burberry customer, with outerwear, the black and white Beat check and Burberry's key competency in sartorial tailoring as its primary focus.

Here's a sneak peak at some of the best looks from the upcoming Burberry Brit's Spring Summer 2010 collection. I love the mix of sporty attitudes and refined casual chic. The signature Burberry checks have also been given new spontaneity with a new Nova Paint Heart pattern that is sure to win the hearts of girls all over! And the success of the portrait print men's tee from FW2009 collection sees a new 'twin brother' for the upcoming collection. I also love the military bags that is shown on the lookbook (is that Burberry Prorsum or Brit?). Tough chic:-P

(Will post more pics of the Burberry London SS2010 collection on a seperate post:-P)
