Junya
Watanabe Spring Summer 2010 Menswear

I am beginning to take a keen interest in the Japanese menswear scene after a few successes in acquiring beautiful pieces from Japanese designers. Becos' it's designed by asians, the cutting somehow fit better and most importantly I adore a different sense of aesthetics from these creative brands. They have a unique and refreshing perspective which is refreshing from the offerings from the west.

One such designer is Junya Watanabe. Being a collaboration enthusiasts, he has worked with varied brands from high street Converse and Levi's, luggage makers Globetrotter to classic tailoring Brooks Brothers. This coming Spring Summer 2010, he worked his magic with the legendary Scottish raincoat maker Mackintosh.

Junya Watanabe's inspirations stems from nostalgia. His interpretation of western gentlemen style always evokes a sense of classic elegance while retaining relevance to the modern man's wardrobe. Immaculate cuts on jackets are his forte as does the use of classic western patterns and designs to create his collection. (Think plaids and pinstripes)

Spring Summer 2010 sees lots of plaid offerings. They come in a myriad range of colours and designs. Jackets, shirts and shorts are all applied with this pattern.

Golfing sportsmen, elegant gentlemen all looked immaculately smart in Junya Watanabe's charming nostalgic creations. It brought a sense of the good old days where men dress with the utmost allure and noblesse.

My favourite piece of this collection needs no hesitation, it will be that orange plaid blazer which is definitely coming home with me when Spring Summer 2010 season arrives.:-P

I like it alot too! And Dries Van Noten:-) These 2 stand out for me! I love so many pieces from these 2 designers for Spring summer 2010

But for day to day offerings, D&G's cowboy style is my easy to adopt look.:-P
