Madonna Loves Her Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily Bag!

Being a celebrity has its privileges:-) And getting acquainted with a celebrity has even more privileges. Dolce & Gabbana lets Madonna enjoy a first hand 'test drive' of their new Spring Summer 2010 Miss Sicily Bag and Madonna helps the brand get the right kind of media attention that can poise the bag for retail success!:-) Fashion and celebrities are the best partners in 'crime' to make us drool and spend spend spend:-)

But of course, if the bag lacks a certain level of aesthetic appeal, this age old formula probably would not work. Thankfully, the Sicily bag is a beauty in its own right. An elegant single top handle tote that seemed to be the rising trend for women's bag design (probably inspired by Hermès's famed Kelly bag). From Fendi's Peekaboo to Salvatore Ferragamo's Sofia, top handle bags are making their presence felt now! Dolce & Gabbana's latest offering for Spring Summer 2010, the Sicily bag shares this design trait but uses interesting crochet material mixed with leather. The crochet texture adds sensuality and textural interest. Quite an unusual choice of material for bags and hence it will be distinctive when compared to full leather bags. I also find the tapered shape of the bag beautiful, with understated branding and gold hardware for a luxurious touch. The bag even spot leather tassel detailing which is both whimsical and feminine. Besides black and white, there are also other variants of materials and colour combinations to choose from:-P

The 'future' is looking bright for the Sicily bag especially after Madonna has given her 'approval':-) She has been seen toting this bag (in crochet and python) on several ocassions. So ladies, do keep a lookout for the Sicily bag, it could be the next must-have accessory of Spring Summer 2010:-P

It's always a wonder how celebrities carry their bags exactly like models do on runway, with the perfect stuffing for the perfect shape. It might be just plain papers in Madonna's bag :)

Or lots of tissue?!?! Hehehe

I stuffed my bags as well to give it shape. Kinda silly but necessary.

And michael, I agree, I love Madonna's new look. She looked very sophisticated:-) But at times, it seemed she is attending a funeral. hahaha. All black gives the impression. Nonetheless, The bag compliments her very well. It's one of the best looking bags in recent years for Dolce & Gabbana.
