My MANy Bags Trendspotting #68

Acid Wash Jeans: Relevant Or A Thing Of The Past?

I was flipping thru my Sartorialist Book last evening and it was a real inspiration journey admiring the many portraits of style 'mavens' featured inside. One of the looks that capture my attention was this slim guy in his acid wash jeans (not blue but brown!) with his slouchy canvas bag and gladiator style sandals. I love the acid wash jeans. Balmain's last Spring Summer 2009 women's collection saw the revival of these 80's 'trashy' jeans style, but will it be relevant now? Perhaps it is the unique colour of his acid wash jeans (brown and beige looks great:-P), that to me transcend time and trends. So if I can spot a pair like these, I would want to grab it!

What do you guys think? Acid wash jeans... relevant or leave it in the past?

it's super easy to make!

1) find a super old dark jeans that you would want to bleach

2) twist and twirl edges of the jeans (or just crumple it like how you crumple a paper hehe)

3) spray with water with bleach and wait for like 15 minutes before washing it

4) voila! acid wash jeans! :)

5)if everything else fail, there's always Zara and Mango to run to hehe

I think this is the first time I say something posetive about them, but that really looked good, and yes, they are wearable still...
