Sale Shopping Spotlight: BlackBarrett Spring Summer 2014 Menswear

Below: Better late than never... I may be falling in love with BlackBarrett's SS2014 Menswear at the end of the season... but I am just in time to take advantage of their end of season markdowns and get myself favourite pieces at amazing prices! Love the paisley print shirt in china blue... now I am considering the matching pair of shorts or blazer too:-)
Below: The lines and dots print shirt is also on my sale radar... featured on the SS2014 ad campaign... Love it!

Sale Shopping Spotlight: BlackBarrett Spring Summer 2014 Menswear

I might have been a bit too late in discovering the graphic appeal of BlackBarrett’s Spring Summer 2014 Mens collection. But better late than never, especially when I am just in time for their end of season mark downs... there is silver lining in falling in love with a collection this late in the season.

I am loving the graphic modern approach of BlackBarrett... albeit at a much accessible price points than the main line, Neil Barrett. For spring summer 2014, there are colour blocking, line prints and an amazing china blue paisley print that gets me most excited. So much love at first sight, that I pop by the BlackBarrett store on Sunday to get my hands on the paisley print short sleeve shirt. The price was SGD190 but after the sale discount... an amazingly affordable SGD120! My best buy of the season for sure:-)

I am contemplating the matching shorts or bomber jacket... but at the same time, I love the graphic colour block blazer, the lines and dot shirt (featured in the Ad Campaign)... so many things I want! All at a great price point and cut to fit Asian builds.

Below: Check out the other incredible pieces and time to get some sale action going... I want the colour block blazer and blue lines print bomber jacket!
Go to Club 21 Global website to shop if you live outside of Singapore. For once, I am thankful that I reside in Singapore which houses a BlackBarrett boutique at Paragon Shopping Mall:-P Happy sale shopping... Can’t wait to wear my new shirt this coming weekend!:-P

Paul Smith Spring Summer 2014 Oskar Cut-Out Leather Sandals

Below: Shoe inspired... I love Paul Smith's Oskar Cut-Out Leather Sandals which works for dressing down or smarten up when paired with a suit!
Paul Smith Spring Summer 2014 Oskar Cut-Out Leather Sandals

Hybrid shoes that can dress you down or smarten up to be semi formal? That’s quite a tall task to ask for any kind of shoes.

But apparently not for Paul Smith... Check out their Spring Summer 2014 Oskar Cut-Out Leather Sandals. It’s both a pair of cool summer sandals (Thanks to the strappy design and cutouts) while also being a leather slip-on all in one. Being a hybrid, that creates the versatility to wear with shorts or match up a summer suit. I am seriously tempted, especially now being on sale with my size available at Mr Porter US site. Love the white colour! Should I?

Once a shoe fanatic... always will be. I can never get enough of good shoe designs:-P

Now on sale at 30% off at US$381.50 (Was US$545)

Mr Porter USA Spring Summer 2014 End Of Season Sales Has Started!

Below: Mr Porter US site has started their Spring Summer 2014 sales! Up to 50% off... and myMANybags Sale Shopping Tip #02: Mr Porter US site do ship internationally... and Singapore shoppers still get free international shipping!
Mr Porter US Site Has Started Their End Of Season Sales!

Keenly awaiting for some sale action? Wait no further... Mr Porter USA site has started their Spring Summer 2014 End Of Season Sales! Yes, the US always get a headstart before the rest of the world... or not?!?!?!

Do you know International shoppers can still make their orders on Mr Porter USA site even if you are based outside of US? They do shipped internationally albeit at a higher cost. But good news for Singapore shoppers... you still enjoy the FREE international shipping as per the UK site! Woohoo... that means you can start shopping the sales before all others. I did mine and got a MISMO tote bag for 50% off at USD167.50!

The difference between shopping on the US and UK site is the origin of the shipment and the currency you pay with. Using Mr Porter US site, you will be charged in USD while UK site services the rest of the world and you pay in GBP. One minor disadvantage for Singapore shoppers if you shop at the USA site... the delivery time is slightly longer due to the longer distance your orders have to travel. But a day or 2 longer sure beats waiting many more weeks before international sales starts! So what are you waiting for?

Another sale shopping tip brought to you by yours truly, mymanybags. Yes, you are most welcome:-P

(Remember to switch you country of shipment (on top left hand corner) to United states to get to the US site.)

Below: The best deal for Mismo totes... I got mine for USD167.50 (or approx. SGD220). Hurray! Love the light breezy pale blue colour for summer style:-P

5 Spring Summer 2014 Bags To Stake Out For During Sales

Below: With sale season starting for some brands and coming for others... it's time to plan what to buy! Here's my 5 picks I will be considering and staking out for when markdowns happens!:-P
Spring Summer 2014 End Of Season Sales Planning: 5 Bags To Stake Out For During Sales

With Spring Summer 2014 Fashion Season coming to its end... End of Season sales have already started for some brands and more to come over the next weeks.

So what are you planning to buy this time round? It does help to do some research and planning before hand so you end up with purchases not on impulse but on budget and according to plan.

My #1 rule for sale shopping... never buy anything you would not pay full price for even if it is super cheap. Buying because of steep discounts usually end up with regrets and you end up with a white elephant that will collect dust over the years. I learned this hard truth from years of sale shopping, and even an expert shopper like me, I do succumb to the lure of big markdowns.

Here’s my top 5 picks I will be staking out for. I chose them because I am feeling the prints and colours this Spring Summer 2014. And these bags will still be relevant even after this season is over. Florals never disappear from fashion when summer season comes. Givenchy’s techno afro print is visually interesting to warrant as art, art never dies. Camo prints are classics when it comes to mens fashion. Bright single hued soft leather bags can always fit any tropical vacations.

1) Givenchy Tech-Print Backpack - US$1,125
(Available at Mr Porter. I forsee these will be snapped up as soon as markdowns begin. So start stalking the site. Tip: US site always have their sales first.:-P)

2) 3.1 Phillip Lim Medium Side Zip Duffle - Now on SALE at US$595 from US$850
(I love this bag because of the brightly hued floral print. And armed with an optional shoulder strap, this colourful bag is great to take with you on your summer getaways. What sealed the deal is the lightning bolt emblem which injects personality and fun! Available at www.3.1philliplim.com

3) Ami Floral Print Backpack - US$286 (SGD360)

Again florals done in complimentary hues in khaki tones are great to inject flower power without coming across as too feminine. I love the front pocket for a casual no frills bag to take anywhere. Available at www.matchesfashion.com

4) Mismo M/S Nordic Camo print shopper - US$345 (SGD435)

Camouflage print with colour? YES! YES! YES! Good size to use as a tote or shoulder sling. Mismo makes functional bags and now the camo print just takes the design to a new fun level. I will be talking this for sure! Available at www.matchesfashion.com

5) Burberry Prorsum The Little Duffle in Nappa Leather - Now on SALE at SGD715 from SGD1195

Brightly hued in soft nappa leather... this sling shoulder backpack is useful for casual days or in my opinion, a beach vacation bag. I would choose this bottle green colour for it’s tropical feel. Will always make you wanna take a vacation! Available at Burberry e-store.

The Montblanc Patron of Art Edition Henry E. Steinway 4810 (SGD $3,690)
features the distinctive black and gold colour combination of a classic Steinway grand piano, with the barrel in deep black lacquer and gold-plated fittings. The fountain pen’s cap is decorated with the heart of the iconic music instrument – the harp, or overstrung piano.

The Montblanc Patron of Art Edition Henry E. Steinway 888 (SGD $12,900)
takes the piano inspiration to the next level. Each piece is adorned with the representation of a piano harp made from precious 750 solid gold. Chanel Spring Summer 2014 Graffiti Printed Canvas Bags

Below: Latest bag obsession... Chanel's Spring Summer 2014 Large Graffiti Printed Canvas bags are to die for! I need the tote version in military green which features signature chain handles with multi-coloured rope charms and frayed edging... something precious treated with a street edge! LOVE!
Below: Comes in cream coloured version which is equally appealing!
Below: The backpacks are a forerunner of attention for fashion fans and streetstyle photographers! (Priced from USD3400...Yikes!)

Chanel Spring Summer 2014 Graffiti Printed Canvas Bags

Lately there hasn’t been any noteworthy bags that has triggered my bag radar. Seems the arm candies debuting this season have been somewhat stale. But all thanks to Chanel, the bags scene for SS2014 just got a little more exciting. For their Spring Summer 2014 collection, design maestro Karl Lagerfeld sent down the runway, a series of graffiti printed canvas bags that sparked off a buying frenzy. Sold out almost everywhere, these grunge themed bags are highly sought after... a scenario that reminded me of Marc Jacobs’ reign for LV’s artist collaboration bags.  I love treating something that is so resoundingly expensive with less than the precious care it warrants. Making them all 'vandalised' and distressed with frayed edges and graffiti patterns just bring a new street cool to luxury. This is one bag I really want since LV’s monogramouflage bags! LOVE!

Choose from backpacks (from USD3400) to totes which spots the signature chain handles. I love the latter more... especially in a military green which boasts masculine gender neutral style. Measuring 15.7 x 13 inches, the tote bag can work for fashion forward girls as well as guy.

New Hermès Bracelets: Meet 'Intense', 'Hippique' and 'Gourmette'

Below: Not 1 but 3 new Hermès bracelet designs for the new season...
New: Hermès Intense, Hippique and Gourmette Bracelets

For fans of who cannot get enough of Hermès leather jewellery... good news. Not 1 but 3 new designs have just been added to their  highly sought after bracelet collection. Meet Intense, Gourmette and Hippique.

Intense (USD550) is my favourite, featuring a huge metal hardware (similar to Kelly Dog’s) that uses a slot fastening. Perfect for glamour evenings should you get tired of flaunting the usual CDCs. I want one!

Next up, very appropriate for a summer casual look, Hippique (USD415) is a braided design that allows for some casual cool. I see these pairing well with summer shorts and a  floral shirt. Stacked them with your beaded jewellery for maximum effect.

For days you want to be understated, go for the subtle Gourmette (USD470) bracelet which has an oval shape middle portion that stacks well with other H beauties. Something that will be timeless and treasured.

Which one will you go for? All for me!

Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Date Automatic

Below: My heart be still... A new object of desire indeed... the new Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Date Automatic as spotted on hearthrob Chris Hemsworth during the recent 86th Academy Awards...

Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Date Automatic

When you have progressed so much with your bags, clothes and shoes collection... the natural step forward for being a true style aficionado naturally inclines to appreciating a full lifestyle of tasteful living. Timepieces, automobiles, home furnishings and art are all part and parcel to reinforce one’s appreciation of the finer things in life. At least for me (unfortunate for my wallet), I am starting to develop an increasingly demanding taste for my wrist accessories, namely my watches.

Montblanc has been earnest in putting their brand forward and into the wrists of the world’s most influential and successful men. From Hugh Jackman to Lang Lang and now leading Hollywood Actors at the recent 86th Academy awards just put the brand high on desirability. Of course, their long tradition of craftsmanship has seen some exceptionally crafted timepieces amongst Montblanc’s collection.

The latest to join the brand's impressive timepieces family is the Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Date Automatic.

Leveraging on ninety years of pursuit in perfection and masterly craftsmanship since the creation of their iconic, Meisterstück (German word for “masterpiece”) fountain pen 149 in 1924, Montblanc’s NEW Meisterstück Heritage Collection of timepieces shares this same spirit of incorporating extraordinary innovation and workmanship with outstanding aesthetics.

The Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Date Automatic is definitely an object of desire. With its four displays (hours, minutes, seconds and date), the Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Date concentrates on all essential functions. The dial’s design is crafted with fine black indices for the minutes along the downwardly sloping periphery of the dial while the sharply faceted applied indices radiates out in various lengths. The applied Roman numeral “XII”, the date window with polished frame and the fine sunburst pattern with a radiant shimmer all add to the level of detail for this masterpiece. All these intricacies forms the background for the circular motions of the rhodium-plated and polished hour-hand and minute-hand, each in dauphine style, with 4 sharply tapering facets that beautifully match the applied indices. The hands are propelled by self-winding mechanical Calibre MB 24.17 movement which is ensconced in a red gold and stainless steel case and features large reptilian scales and a stainless steel pronged buckle.

What more can you ask for in a outstanding timepiece? This is indeed love at first sight. To sweeten the desire, hearthrob Chris Hemsworth (of ‘The Mighty Thor’ fame) wore the Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Date Automatic at the recent 86th 86th Academy awards. Dashing!

The Montblanc Meisterstück Heritage Date Automatic will be available starting in the summer of 2014.

Zara Spring Summer 2014 Flower Bomber Jacket

Below: My new Zara Flower Bomber Jacket... My outfit today was not exactly matching... but it does show the bomber jacket works with shorts and sneakers. I am wearing a BlackBarrett Plaid Shirt, Que Masqueline Sailboat Shorts, DKNY Metallic Gold Mesh Sneakers, Saint Laurent and Hermès Bracelets...
Below: Love the colours and floral patterns on this Zara SS2014 Flower Bomber Jacket... SGD139... Now in stores at Ngee Ann City, Singapore!

Flower Power Season: Zara SS2014 Mens Flower Bomber Jacket

If you have been paying attention to the runway trends... Floral prints are a major theme for many designers from Prada to Gucci to Ami and many more. So I was enjoying my day off today out and about town and stumbled upon a Zara piece that fits this new season's trend!

Welcome my Zara Flower Bomber Jacket at SGD139. The colours of black, amber, reds and blues blends perfectly without behind too overbearingly feminine. The cropped cut and polyester material is both sporty and polished. Crease resistant too! Please also note that the prints varies for each piece. I tried on a piece with 2 red floral portion near each of the pockets. I decided I wanted a less outstanding piece and opted for a cleaner version afterwards.

Can't wait to work some flower power this weekend!

Spring Summer 2014 Prints For The Boys!

Below: Prints for summer 2014? Zara and Peter Pilloto for Target has amazingly affordable and fun printed sneakers for warmer days ahead!

Below: Saw this olive green floral patterend Gucci tote this weekend... love at first sight...
Spring Summer 2014 Prints For The Boys: Zara, Peter Pilotto for Target And Gucci

Prints are a definite must have for Spring Summer 2014. Not only for the girls but also for the boys. There has never been a better time to inject some flamboyance and colour to usher in the new warmer months. From florals to graphic patterns, prints appear on almost any aspect of the wardrobe... Shoes, shirts, trousers, bags and more.  Wear them for vacations, hit the beaches... Injecting colours and pattern will excite any wardrobe and give new dimension to your style.

Here’s some great pieces I found to help kick start your summer prints adoption...

1) Nothing better than shoes to wear prints and florals. Footwear in patterned designs will always be fun and not an overkill. Sneakers and slip-ons are perfect for casual days outdoors enjoying the sun. While hitting the stores this weekend, I spotted 2 graphic and floral print sneakers from Zara which is visually appealing and easy on your pockets. One features a floral pattern in browns and taupe while the other is an exciting green hue geometric pattern. I love them! At SGD109... definitely worth considering for the new season. Besides Zara, Peter Pilotto for Target’s affordable and chic collection includes 2 interesting patterned slip-ons. Again, one in floral and one in a monotone geometric pattern. At USD40 on Net-a-porter, they are summertime’s best buys! Just buy a couple of sizes up if you are a guy, since the collection is for the fairer gender.

2) Canvas totes are summertime’s best companion. And with floral prints, they become summertime’s most appropriate and formidable style statement. I love Gucci’s olive green floral canvas tote (Euro695... and Singapore’s Gucci store has them in stock!). Using a olive tone background retains masculinity to the otherwise feminine pattern and tone them down jus right for the boys. And if budget allows, the tote cum backpack design in perforate floral print leather is functional and cool.

Time to welcome sunny days with patterns!

Gucci Floral Print Mens Shoes For Spring Summer 2014

Below: With Floral prints taking centre stage in Spring Summer 2014 Menswear key trends, shoes are the best way to hop on this style statement without suffering from overkill and looking like a wannabe. Gucci's 1953 Horsebit loafers is classic and made even more fun with colourful paisley motifs!

Below:Even sporty sneakers are getting a touch of flower power at Gucci... Love the olive green floral print high top!
Gucci Floral Print Mens Shoes For Spring Summer 2014

A bohemian spirit is in the air for Spring Summer 2014... Floral prints are running amok this season. Girls are no longer exclusively enjoying this feminine pattern. Boys are now getting them in all sorts of variety, fearless in embracing some flamboyance to their style. Many brands are propagating flower power on the runways, from Prada to Dries Van Noten and also Gucci. From bold graphic versions to soft romantic designs, there is no denying guys love their florals as much as the ladies.

Embracing this prominent trend for SS2014 in smaller doses is the best way to not suffer an overkill in clashing patterns. Ready to wear may look wannabe on many guys. So I recommend shoes as the best way to express your flower statement without trying too hard. Gucci's SS2014 floral prints on their mens shoes has the right blend of masculine sophistication with summer friendly flamboyance for any savvy gentlemen.

I love the Gucci 1953 Horsebit Loafer in Paisley Canvas (USD590), in gorgeous tones of teals and beiges. The gold hardware accent adds a right amount of bling while the classic shape ensures timeless style. If you want an evening appropriate design, go for the Flower Print Jacquard Evening Moccasin (USD595) in mauve purple hue which is both romantic and outstanding.

For the sporty types, there are perforated leather sneakers (USD595) or canvas high-tops (USD525) spotting floral motifs against olive green tones balancing masculinity with the flamboyance.

However, my heart rests with the canvas espadrilles (USD260) which at such a good price will make for a handy summer vacation footwear sans a huge dent in your wallet.

All that is left is to plan a holiday for a good reason to get these gorgeous Gucci shoes!

Coach Mercer Drafters Tote And Mercer Collection

Below: Handsome and functional with a touch of classic charm... I love Coach's new Mercer Collection for Spring Summer 2014. The Mercer Drafters Tote in racing green is just on cue for the popularity of greens we see in abundance at Mens Fashion Week in Europe...

Coach Mens Spring Summer 2014 Mercer Collection

The colour green has been a strong favourite during the recent FW2014 mens fashion week in Europe. More intense than your military olive and yet less predictable than your failsafe black, deep green, especially in a forest green tone is the hue of the moment.

Which brings me to this new Spring Summer 2014 Mens Coach bag that I just spotted, both for its colour and the simple functional design. Check out the Coach Mercer Leather Drafters Tote in Racing Green (SGD1195). Classic shape reinvented with modern details and a unique colour, while retaining a touch of yesteryear. I love those brass hardware styling on the handles - A brass ring and buckle over the handle straps add character and warmth to the design. Using a different colour for handles and the body of the bag also inject depth to the bag. Handsome and useful, the Coach Mercer Drafters Tote will make a great everyday bag or even the ideal gift for your special man this Valentine’s Day.

Remember to also look out for other equally appealing men’s bags from Coach’s New Mercer collection. The Mercer Leather Craftsman’s Tote in Saddle (SGD1,395) that feature rolled handles (over the predictable flat ones) are a standout. In a tan brown shade called Saddle, this bag has the right blend of function and classic charm. For the office, the Mercer Leather Banker’s Brief in Saddle (SGD1195) with a contrast coloured buckle strap and those ‘vintage’ inspired brass hardware will impress in and out of the boardroom.

Below: The new Mercer Leather Craftsman's Tote has a rolled handle in a beautiful shade of tan coloured brown...
