The Material Boy #268

Alexander McQueen x Puma Sandals

Much as it seems out of place for YSL to collaborate with Puma...(in my opinion), Alexander McQueen is well suited and had been tapping on the sport's brand active wear expertise and designed quite an impressive range of shoes with Puma.

This is his latest offerings, sandals that gets my heart beating fondly (not the flip flops).

Not sure if these are exclusive to Tokyo's Puma stores...but it sure am worthy to snag a pair if you managed to spot one. Technical style meets gladiator. Loving the black and bronze combination.

My MANy Bags News #64

YSL x Puma Sneakers

This came as a HUGE surprise...an elegant fashion house that is synonymous with french fashion has now teamed up with sportswear brand Puma for a pair of collaboration sneakers. Does it enhance the brand image or merely wears it down? It's up to you to decide. Meanwhile these suede and leather sneakers are now sold in YSL stores. And in US, sold exclusively on the brand's e-commerce site.

My Shoe Collection #07

Neil Barrett/Puma Sneakers

A vintage inspired sneaker design by Neil Barrett for Puma. Designer collaborations with sports brands have tremendous success and can up the chic and (of course most importantly) price levels of items produced. Addidas has Yohji Yamamoto (Y3), Stella McCartney and Puma has Neil Barrett, Converse has John Varvatos...and more...

Nice leather trimings and fabric construction, cushioned interiors for comfort. Football studs sole. I love the colour combination. Very eye catching. From Neil Barrett many seasons ago, Spring Summer 2003. I have 'cold storage' the shoe for many years and only wore it today. Dun know why I did that. Perhaps I forgot about them or I just cannot find the outfit to wear them. Good news is good designs are timeless...and it looks just as chic now as it was in 2003.

Retail price: Approx. SGD $599. Where to buy: Club 21 Mens at Four Seasons Hotel
