Balmain Homme Fall Winter 2009/2010
With the huge success of his SS09 women's collection for Balmain (every women went crazy over his spring summer's 80's disco fever and rock chick bling. The skinny acid splashed jeans, Michael Jackson shoulder padded jackets and studded heels were hot on the wish list of many ladies!), Christophe Decarnin now brings his high glam 'Versace-sque' spin to the boys for Fall Winter 2009/2010.
However, much to the disappointment of us, boys, those sexy, drool-worthy looks that propel Balmain into 'fashion superstar' status for ladies did not translate well for the boys. Only the jeans feel noteworthy. The rest of the ready to wear collection lack the 'ooomph' that Balmain fans have come to expect.
Having said that, those tight fitted jeans with distressed or disconnected patchwork details (on the knee) should still be highly sought after among fashion 'hungry' men. I would snag myself a pair if I can find one next season:-P But then again, Balmain ranks as one of the most exorbitant 'high trash glam' label right now, as evident in the women's range prices. I may have to break a bank to own one:-P It's nice to have something to drool. Makes me work harder. :-P
