Ad Campaigns And Catalogues #86

Below: The top ones feel like some monk's sandals... like it's meant to be walk on for many many miles...:-) I like the raw simplicity of the design

Below: The top pair is one of my favourites. Love the exposed seams around the soles. It does resemble something I have seen from Spanish shoe brand, Camper...

Below: Bags featuring artwork by Tsuguharu Fujita. Piercing or seductive gaze? You decide:-)

Jil Sander Spring Summer 2010 Mens Bags And Shoes

There is a sense of zen this Spring Summer 2010 around Raf Simons' latest creations for Jil Sander. Inspired by the paintings of Tsuguharu Fujita, the supple and pure collection of basic whites and neutrals extends to the accessories as well. We see aplenty of soft pastels of cream, greys and off whites, in an array of minimalist shoe and bag designs. All devoid of any complicated detail and staying true to the essence of quiet elegance.

Although I may find the designs much too plain for my appreciation, I am sure there are enough Jil Sander fans that understands these aesthetics. Nonetheless, my favourite piece out of the whole selection is this pair of simple white lace-ups with a moulded pebbled sole with exposed edges around the rim of the soles. Raw and pure is the key sensibility for this season's Jil Sander.

the accessories are really plain and simple. but that's what Jil Sander is all about! But i do agree that you really have to find something special in it to appreciate the collection, and value its worth (monetary or otherwise).
