Below: 'Colour me black' Birkin? Any Birkin expert ready to authenticate this bag?:-P
D.I.Y Decorated Birkins...
Further to my post about a 'Birkin' (Authenticity is questionable) getting 'D.I.Y decorations', here's another as photographed by Tommy Ton of Jak and Jil. What's happening? Perhaps the influx of many birkins into the market, has caused Birkin owners to want to differentiate their birkins from fellow peers'? (To be honest, much as birkin is still the most coveted bag around, Birkin bag no longer retains its exclusivity status like yesteryear. It is an expensive bag for the waitlist 'survivors' who have the cash. I can spot more Birkins over a weekend than say a Mulberry Alexa Bag: the hot bag of the season.)
So will you boldly give your Birkin a D.I.Y 'personality'?
(Self note: If I have mine, I'd keep it in its original state, careful for any scruffs or buffs, much less smudge it with paint or embellished it with plastic jewels. We are talking about a 5 figure price tag here!:-P)

can't tell from this angle if it's fake or not, although something looks suspicious. :-)
the bag looks good on the first glance. but it's possible that you'd get tired of it and wish you didn't do it at all.
Mehh. Here's how to stand out! Get a Birkin made of croc/alligator! Like the PS1 croc/alligator in navyyyy!
@BoBo Lionel...your right..that croc leather Berkin is fabulous and I so lurv that baaaagggg...
regarding with that orange berkin above in gold hardware...it's not fake...they might have reason why did they painted it...one of the reasons is...the bag might have stain that cannot be remove anymore...then they painted (artfully) it to cover the mess.
From the person who started it all...Jane Birkin pasted quirky bumper stickers on her birkin :)
I saw this on style.com too and thought of you. I assume they both would be real and the owner want to be unique. I also agree with you on keep the originality.
Blasphemous. Down-right wrong.
