My MANy Bags Trendspotting #85

Below: The ultra cute Brad Goreski in his signature Geek Chic attires... Love love love!

Below: The most critical piece of accessory for geek chic, a well cut blazer, bow tie and of course those nerdy thick rim glasses!

Below: To up the chic factor, you can never go wrong with any Chanel, especially vintage Chanel Briefcases!

Geek Chic

I think I am slightly obsessed with Brad Goreski now, after watching multiple episodes of 'The Rachel Zoe Project'. Him being cute and with an impeccable dress sense makes for an ultimate TV magnet. He best epitomises Geek Chic. Nerdy cool, while being fashion on trend.

So in celebration of my new found inspiration, here's some pics of the ultra cute Brad Goreski in his sartorial marvel. And to top it off, some indispensable accessories for fashionable geeks around: drool worthy vintage Chanel Quilted Briefcase (Vintage!), Commonwealth Utilities Oversized Bow Tie and lastly, most importantly, geeky looking Tom Ford Black Acetate Frames.

I need to shop 'Geek Chic' now.

Commonwealth Utilities - 'Men We Love' Fall 09 Video

To herald in the new fall winter 2009 collection, designers Anthony Keegan and business partner Richard Christiansen made a presentation video aptly titled 'Men We Love', especially since the brand has expressed fascination in the simplicity of a men's sensuality and sexuality in the state of dressing and undressing. The video shot by Nicolas Wagner features a voyeuristic journey that showcase the transformation of everyday men to "Commonwealth Utilities" gentlemen. Enjoy. Don't nose bleed:-P

Beyond the sensuous imagery, I am strangely drawn to the vest with back straps. Like a vest version of straits jacket...kinda cool.

Commonwealth Utilities Spring Summer 2010 Preview

With the upcoming New York Fashion Week, I have received some press information and Spring Summer 2010 collection preview pictures from New York based menswear label, Commonwealth Utilities. A relatively young brand, Commonwealth Utilities is built upon the belief of a fashion line that is as sexy as it is smart, classic as it is contemporary...all combined with just the slight edge that is fuelling the industry now.

In other words, gentlemenly refined styles that keeps modern men sexy and 'delectable':-P

Founders Anthony Keegan and Richard Christiansen hails from Canada and Australia respectively, both Commonwealth nations and hence why the name. Both guys (not to mention hot and cute!) met while working in a dive bar in 1995 and have extensive combined experiences in fashion, film, publishing and advertising. Keegan gained creds working at labels like Armani,Versace and Donna Karen while Christiansen is a former creative director of art book publisher Assouline and Suede magazine. He is also the founder of agency Chandelier Creative Design Agency who calls Mandarin Oriental, Parfums Givenchy, Liberty of London and Morgans Hotels as their list of esteemed clients.

Recently Commonwealth Utilities even signed on New York Rangers player Sean Avery to serve as a design collaborator and marketing pitchman. It seems this former Vogue intern is graduating with flying colours!

The designs of Commonwealth Utilities have also caught the attention of Marc Jacobs as evident in the pics of Mr Marc and his 'husband' attending the brand's Spring 2009 event.

Commonwealth Utilities will stage an upcoming runway show on the 13th of September. Check out the preview pics of some promising pieces debuting at New York Fashion Week. I love those seersucker pieces and jackets with clean lines and subdued colour palette for a refined take on men's dressing.

Commonwealth Utilities
is available at Saks Fifth Avenue in USA, Matches Fashion in UK, Beams and Isetan in Japan.
