My MANy Bags Trendspotting #205

Below: One of my favourite prints for SS2013... Givenchy's Pre-spring Summer 2013 'Fighter plane' printed shirt is an interesting take on military trend of the season!

Brad Goreski In Givenchy Pre-Spring Summer 2013 'Fighter Plane' Printed Shirt

I was surprised this shirt was lacking in streetstyle presence during the recently passed Mens Fashion Week in Paris and Milan. I was not able to spot anyone wearing this amazing take on the military trend of Spring Summer 2013. Refreshing to have an option beyond the usual camouflage pattern. Love the mix of paisley print and vintage propeller planes.

However, my style idol, Brad Goreski breaks the 'silence'... he posted a pic of himself at the Vivenne Westwood show during the just over London Fashion Week FW2013. With a contrast sleeve coat hiding the loud print of the shirt and a matching tie... it's restrained fun with print with a classy spin.

I can't wait to wear mine now:-) Retails for approx SGD426 on Luisaviaroma. Get it before they fly off the shelves!

The Material Boy #551

Below: Givenchy's pre-spring 'Fighter plane and paisley' printed t-shirts and pouches are a must have! Mr Porter stocks the t-shirt now (£271 w/o UK Vat) but unfortunately the canvas pouches sold out since yesterday... I love these new military themed graphics! So get them while you can:-P

Below: Bergdorf Goodman is accepting pre-orders for more Givenchy 'Fighter plane and paisley print' ready to wear pieces... such as the shirt (USD800) which I am going crazy over...
Below: or this incredible reversible bomber jacket (USD2185)... prices are high, but it's definitely a super cool statement making piece!

Givenchy Pre-Spring 2013 'Fighter Plane + Paisley' Prints

Givenchy is a profit spinning brand to stock in your store. Season after season, they come up with the most amazing prints, from sell-out Rottweilers to Birds of Paradise that are midas touch for retailer's bottom line and fashionistas' statement making ego.

For Pre-spring 2013, Givenchy draws on the rising appeal of military influences and introduces fighter propeller plane graphics against paisley prints for their ready to wear and accessories collections. Once again, those T-shirts are headed to sell out status, as does the shirts, shorts, jackets, pouches... for that matter anything that feature this new set of prints. I adore and heart these brilliant graphics set in battle ridden or paisley landscape with predominant forest greens and accented with spots of red. Somehow there is always a fascination with military themes that resonate with guys!

Mr Porter stocks a gorgeous fighter plane and paisley print T-shirt now (yours for £271 w/o UK VAT). They previously had the canvas pouches with fighter planes but those sold out within a day. That is how popular Givenchy can get! So get them when you can:-P

Bergdorf Goodman are also allowing pre-orders for many ready to wear pieces, from bermuda shorts, shirts to bomber jackets. All not to be missed if you have the cash to spare. Well, it's end of the year, hopefully your bonuses should afford you some of them while 'saving' the economy:-P

I did my part already... by laying down my hard earned cash for the 'fighter plane' canvas pouch yesterday! Can't wait to receive it. This collection is one of the best for the brand, a must have!

The Material Boy #550

Below: A feminine material such as sequins for a masculine pattern such as camouflage? Well, only Prada can pull off this dichotomy with finesse!

Prada Camouflage Sequin Loafers + Past Season Inspirations Recurred

The gender lines are blurring. Prada is pushing the expectations of mens footwear yet again. This time, creating even more contradiction by using a highly feminine material on a masculine pattern. Yes, sequins for camouflage print on their new selection of loafers! Do boys dare brave this pair of eye catching Camouflage Sequin Loafers (USD950)? Or shy away for fear of mockery by being too metrosexual?

The sequin patterned loafers also adopted Prada's Fall Winter 2012 Geometric Floral patterns (USD950), giving fans another option. Only time will tell if these new sequin footwear will be well received by the boys. (I have a hunch, these will fly off the shelves:-P)

For 'safer' options... there are also the studded and jewelled styles (USD1100) recurred from Prada's highly sought after Spring Summer 2012. Mens footwear just got more exciting.

Pre-order yours at Barneys New York if you are fearless in crossing fashion front lines.

The Material Boy #549

Below: If you miss out on Givenchy's FW2012 Rottweiler Print PVC Clutch Bag, another chance awaits in new prints for next season...

More Givenchy Printed Clutches For  Pre-Spring & Spring Summer 2013

Are you one of the many to miss out on owning Givenchy's highly sought after Rottweiler Print PVC Clutch? It seems Givenchy is unrelenting on this highly successful 'profit making' formula and they are sending more printed clutches to entice your wallets next season. For pre-spring 2013, look out for a paisley print (Batik?) version and a religious (Madonna?) portrait version for Spring Summer 2013. The latter may look eerie but I have full confidence, they will still fly off the shelves as soon as they hit the stores. I am on the fence for these 2 new designs... especially when Rottweiler print packs such a visual punch, becoming iconic Givenchy that all fans can associate with. But then again, I may weaken in my resolve once I see these new ones in person. I just know I want one:-P

Ad Campaigns And Catalogues #267

Below: Givenchy Pre-Spring 2013 mens accessories collection gets many ticks for being spot on for next season's trends... One of the best collection for next year with the most amazing military inspired prints...
Below: Military themed printed clutches with fighter planes and military insignia are a must have as does those footwear... Love the gladiator sandals with a trekking style rubber sole...

Givenchy Pre-Spring 2013 Mens Bags, Shoes And Accessories

Prints... Checked. Military themes... Checked. Strong Colours... Checked. Masculine appeal... Checked. There are just so many good things to be said about Riccardo Tisci's upcoming Givenchy Pre-Spring Summer 2013 accessories collection for men. All the trends for next year are amalgamated into this new collection. Nature and paisley prints infused with vintage fighter planes, army stars, while doused in a refreshing palette of grass greens and powerful red, the collection simply scream retailers' dream.

As for Givenchy fans like myself... I have just made a mental pre-order of those printed pouches, backpacks and of course the paisley print trainers. I love the military themed prints. Everyone else is doing the typical camouflage pattern to get the military trend going...but Givenchy adds a new layer of interest with their version by adding fighter planes and military insignia amongst abstract jungle foliage.

Besides the attention grabbing prints, due attention must also be given to the footwear. Those modernised gladiator versions with trekking style rubber soles are perfect to prance around and make heads turn. I need a pair, soft pink please:-P

Ad Campaigns And Catalogues #262

Below: A new print of propeller fighter planes against paisley background for Givenchy's Pre-spring 2013 collection... absolutely amazing and refreshing!
Below: The new print translated onto shirts and clutch which is a must have!
Below: Masculine/feminine contrast that gives personality and depth to the collection. Soft pinks against military olive green? Bravo to the colour choice...
Givenchy Pre-Spring 2012 Menswear

I love pre-season collections. Designs created ahead of the prime seasonal collections to allow for transition to a new season. Pre-season designs are usually more wearable while giving a hint of what’s to come. Sometimes they can even be more exciting than what will be presented on the runways a few months later...

For Givenchy’s pre-spring 2013 menswear, such is the case. We are introduced to an entirely new set of prints, this time featuring propeller planes (military types, I presume) against an intricate background of paisley prints. Set in forest green tones, this new pattern adds on to the already heated craze for Givenchy’s statement making prints. Roitweiler, menacing Sharks, Pin-up girls and Birds of Paradise have all taken on well with the boys, so I forsee this fighter plane motif to be another sell-out! I definitely want that shirt and clutch bag with this new print.

Riccardo Tisci also continues to contradict his aesthetics with masculine sportive and gothic styles against soft feminine touches of pastel pinks and man skirts. It’s this interesting dichotomy of masculine vs. feminine, altar boys vs. bad boy style that gave Givenchy it’s stand out personality. I am a fan of all the highly wearable pieces and most of all, the colour palette. Olive greens and reds with pink... How oddly charming? Not to forget those kick-ass gladiator sandals which will send all the boys crazy.

Another thumbs up for Givenchy
