Dior Homme Spring Summer 2016 Mens Bags

Below: Dior Homme's design DNA is not usually associated with patterns... but for Spring Summer 2016, the brand is giving some modern twist to a favourite classic... the camouflage pattern... to great results! Love this drawstring pouch!

Below: Still keeping to clean lines... these handsome backpacks just had the right amount of camouflage accents to spice up the design...

Dior Homme Spring Summer 2016 Mens Bags: Get Ready To Camouflage!

If you have always been a fan of military themes, you are up for some really good looking bag designs from Dior Homme SS2016. It is an unusual break from the minimalist design approach at Dior Homme to offer prints even something as timeless as camouflage pattern. Very refreshing to see their contemporary take, which are not done in a grungy manner, instead, incorporated quite successfully into modernist silhouettes and clean lines. Even the hues of the khaki greens used have a more khaki tone, for a muted contemporary feel.

The outstanding pieces are flap closure backpacks in handsome navy and malt, with strips of camouflage pattern accenting the gorgeous smooth coloured leather. I also love the full on camouflage drawstring pouch which features a handy front pocket and handle. Outstanding bags for the new season to make you feel right at home in the urban jungle!

Below: 'Rough' it out in style when you travel with the one pocket duffle... the orange tab on the front pocket and camouflage details against navy smooth leather gets a thumbs up!

Dior Homme Spring Summer 2016 Mens Shoes

Below: The new Dior Homme Spring Summer 2016 Mens shoe collection offers sporty soles attached to classic monkstraps for an outdoor and yet sartorially appropriate designs! No wonder the models strutted down the runway wearing these with suits... they worked! Love them:-P

Below: A fan of these open toe sneakers that bears monkstrap details...

Dior Homme Spring Summer 2016 Mens Shoes

Disrupting the codes of sartorial dressing...Kris Van Assche’s Dior Homme Spring Summer 2016 mens collection showed models strutting down the runway, pairing suits with trainers and hiking style boots. A sense of sportive attitude and rugged outdoor spirit create fresh juxtaposition for the new collection. And this appealing combination cannot be achieved without those eye catching footwear.

I love the new footwear collection... a style I would deemed sportive elegance. Rubber soles typical of sneakers and outdoor boots attached to classic shoe styles, monkstraps in particular, creating hybrid designs that are original and interesting. The open toe sandals are one of my favourites, with zip details and buckles for a street cool while the refined leather and monkstrap style keeps them sartorially appropriate.

I want a pair! And those monkstraps too!

Dior Homme Fall Winter 2013 Mens Shoes And Bags

Below: Amazing shoes from Dior Homme Fall Winter 2013 mens collection... Those metal buckle monkstrap boots just screams 'buy me'!

Dior Homme Fall Winter 2013 Mens Shoes And Bags

Finally, Dior Homme Accessories have spoken to me yet again. For many seasons, I had bypass the brand due to the lack of interesting designs. But this Fall Winter 2013, in the heat of sports-driven menswear trend, Dior Homme has come up with some outstanding footwear and bags that warrant attention. Most noteworthy are the use of metal buckles, especially on monkstrap shoes and boots, which gives a modern edge to an otherwise classic design. I also love the thick or wedge soles that inject a street vibe while keeping minimal for understated sophistication.

Below: Contemporary bags for the urban guy who appreciates understated luxury....
As for bags, the linear embossed leather duffels in a variety of shapes looked appealing with its sleek silhouette and contemporary finishes. The metal buckled version in blue and black gets my pick! Shoulder straps on the bags also add a level of functionality to these savvy urban designs.

Below: Wedge soles and brogues have invaded Dior Homme's Fall Winter 2011 collection... All thanks to Prada's infamous SS2011 Wingtips Espadrilles:-P Dior Homme does theirs in rugged style, ready to tread any urban jungle...
Below: Anyone for Dior Homme's Wedge Sole Brogues? Who does it better...Prada or Dior Homme?
Below: Dior Homme's trainers remains my favourite sporty style option... especially with striking red accent colour!

Dior Homme Fall Winter 2011 Mens Shoes

Wedge soles, wedge soles... brogues, brogues, brogues...

These have been the key words for footwear trends this Spring Summer 2011 season. And it's all thanks to Prada's infamous Wingtips Espadrilles which caused this shift in footwear obsession. Suddenly, wearing thick rubber sole shoes becomes an acceptable style for guys who once frown upon Ronald McDonald's chunky shoes.

This 'wedge sole' trend has miraculously survived the summer and seeped into the upcoming Fall Winter 2011 season. Not only does Prada recur the designs, but Dior Homme follows suit with their interpretation as well. Chunky, masculine boots/ brogues anyone? I like Dior Homme's rugged brown leather ones with those gripping soles. But they beg the question for me... are they Dior Homme enough? I leave it in your own opinion.

However, when it comes to trainers with a contemporary edge... no one can challenge Dior Homme's aesthetics. Once again, the collection of new designs for their signature trainers is savvy and very wallet 'seducing'. The use of Fall Winter 2011's most prominent accent colour, Red, adds an welcoming visual punch to the shoes, eye catching but not overpowering!

My MANy Bags Trendspotting #162

Below: 'Invasion' of desperate housewives and suburban husbands? Shopping totes like those you get in supermarkets are a new style statement! Céline, Loewe, Jil Sander are all sending shopper totes into the arms of fashion fans all over...

Below: Which is your favourite?

Let's Go Shopping: 'Grocery Shopping' Style Totes

Invasion of 'fashionable' housewives and suburban husbands? Grocery shopping has never been this chic.

From Céline, Dior Homme, Loewe, Jil Sander to Martin Margiela... luxury brands are turning these mundane packing you get in supermarkers to new trend makers. Shopper totes are a new trend in bag designs!

I love the fun take on something so ordinary and turning it into a fashion statement:-P Of course, my favourite has to be Céline's leather cabas, but Jil Sander's bright neon coloured 'Market bags' are also stylishly delectable as well!

Let's start shopping.

Below: Dior Homme SS2011 Mens Shoes... love the more casual direction this Spring Summer 2011 season is taking. Use of wooden coloured soles and more causal designs are welcoming for summer season...

Dior Homme Spring Summer 2011 Mens Shoes

Dior Homme sums up modern menswear at its finest. Contemporary and forward are often key words used to describe the brand, first made famous by Hedi Slimane. Blacks and greys are almost always present in their collections.

For Spring Summer 2011, I am very surprised that Kris Van Assche toned down the usually more streamlined direction of his Dior Homme Shoe designs but pursue a slightly softer and casual aesthetic, just in time for summer season. Browns and beiges with muted hues, wooden soles and canvas fabrics are used to offset the polished, perforated leathers...giving a fine balance in modern summer styles.

I love the shape of the pointy lace-up shoes, but I love even more the wooden soled soft leather versions (in brown and black) that just beckons to be worn sans socks. The sandals are seemingly a modernist take on gladiator designs with ankle height and multi-straps. The pair that gives an illusion of a sock worn with the strappy sandal is interesting, but perhaps not my cup of tea.

Check out my Facebook Fan Page for the full collection. Some drool worthy sneaker styles will definitely put fans on a buying frenzy!

Great Minds Think Alike #28

Below: Dior Homme vs. Céline? Great minds think alike? Dior Homme Fall Winter 2011 menswear... check out the bi-material tote bag...

Below: Does it resemble Céline's Spring 2011 Bi-material Cabas in leather and linen? From the bi-colour and material to the design...

Below: I still prefer Céline's version. Something about the proportion and the feel makes it more chic! The raw line and soft lamb skin is also an interesting mix of textures and materials. An all seasons bag for all occassions, luxe or casual:-) I am so in love with this!

Below: Kwannam from We Could Grow Up Together just got one! I love it!

Dior Homme Fall Winter 2011 vs. Céline Spring 2011

Battle of the bi-coloured tote bags... Céline's Leather Cabas has garnered a following of some of the most stylish women and men. Their bi-coloured/material version are some of the best undertstated luxe designs. When you know something is done right, others may seemingly follow. I spotted a 'close cousin' of this Céline's Spring 2011 Bi-material Cabas in Leather and Raw Linen (Kwannam from We Could Grow Up Together just got one! I am jealous cos' it's so fabulous!). This 'relative' is from Dior Homme.... straight off the runway of their Fall Winter 2011 collection. Grey and black, black handles, bi-material.... similarities abound.

A case of Great Minds Think Alike again?

The Material Boy #426

Below: Who wants these Spring Summer 2011 Mens Shoes as much as me:-P?

Shoes To Lust For: Spring Summer 2011

In fashion, you have to plan ahead. Fashion never stops for anyone, so it is imperative for the discerning shopper to know your next seasons' purchase even before the current season is over. Fall Winter 2010 is coming to an end... end of season sales are in full force. So what better time than now to peruse over what's coming. Plan your shopping budget, instead of 'throwing away' money on items that may just be passing trends when current season ends. Save some bucks for new seasons offerings no matter how attractive the sale discounts may be:-) Or buy into items that will stay relevant for new seasons to come. That's the sale shopping strategy I am adopting this year:-)

So here's a look at upcoming shoes that I am loving. Top on the list are thoese Burberry Prorsum sandals that I have lament over since it first appeared on the runway many months ago. Now it is time to lust over them and plan to buy them if the price and fit is right!

Next on the list are those Neil Barrett Suede And Nappa Leather Hybrid Sandals/Chukka Boots which will match exceptionally well with skinny jeans. Urban warrior off duty anyone? If covered designs are still too uptight, Dior Homme's modern Leather Strap Ankle Sandals are a great alternative for modern footwear.

For a touch of sporty attitudes, Raf Simons Lace-up Leather Trainers are beckoning out to me. I love the crazy, displaced positions of the shoe laces which creates a unique design. These trainers will serve you well on and off the running track:-P

I also love the fluorescent orange and blue soled Jil Sander lace-ups for a spot of colour shock value completed with sartorial elegance. These shoes make a statement without being vulgar. And colour is a key trend for Spring Summer 2011! Wear with shorts or rolled pants:-)

Speaking on lace-ups and smart shoes... Christian Louboutin's Denim Studded Rollerboy will always have a special place in my heart. Versatile and eye catching, it's a shoe that warrants envy eyes anywhere you tread to. Next up, how about Distressed Patchwork Suede Lace-ups from Officine Creative which will make any summer shorts look complete with a dash of casual debonair:-P

Lastly, Loewe's White Leather Brogues with Wooden Soles will be what I will turn to for smart footwear to round off smart weekend ensembles... Hamptons or English charm?

So what's your 'lust list' for Spring Summer mens footwear? Anyone planned any purchases yet?

Below: Canvas bags from Dior Homme anyone... this backpack is one cool looking design... mixing modernity and utilitarian...

Below: Modern shopping totes that give Céline's leather cabas a run for their money.
..

Below: More contemporary designs to covet... from messengers to duffels to totes...

Dior Homme Spring Summer 2011 Bags

Are you lusting for any Dior Homme bags lately? Well, be sure to continue coveting for the brand's minimal and contemporary designs as Spring Summer 2011 sees another fantastic collection waiting to satisfying all fans. I am already marking a couple on my shopping list!

Spring Summer 2011 season will see a range of canvas bags that add more utilitarian feel to the usual polished and urban designs. Looking more tough but interpreted in the streamlined Dior Homme aesthetics that is perfect for any urban fashionite. I love the backpack, one of the best I have seen, having been a non-believer in such bag configurations. I just love this Dior Homme version!

Further to the canvas bags, I am also eyeing a leather shopper the likes of Céline's leather cabas but in a more tapered shape. The versatile design will be a good companion for any dress up or dress down occassions.

The new collection offers plenty of options, from messenger bags, totes to duffels, that I am sure many modern dandy will gladly adopt. Some in a embossed print leather while others in smooth calf leather, Dior Homme seem to have every ground covered. Spring Summer 2011 season is looking promising for 'bag adoption'!

Dior Homme Fall Winter 2010 Bags, Shoes, Accessories

After last week's intense Dior Homme 'brand induction' for their Marina Bay Sands store opening... I am starting to have a deeper appreciation of Kris Van Assche's vision for the brand. Hedi Slimane's influence on men's fashion and the Dior Homme DNA may be memorable, Kris Van Assche has slowly gained ground and rooted his aesthetics to Dior Homme. Now I see more of him in Dior Homme than his predecessor.

Dior Homme is a brand that needs to be appreciated up close and personal. Their aesthetics is for guys who want to display luxury thru the most interesting and refine of details instead of blatant branding and over the top styles. In a profound way, each them I inspect the Dior Homme merchandise in close proximity, I am fascinated by the thought that goes behind the details. Little things such as a slash cut here, a tuck there or how a jacket is constructed with an extra flap, creates the most impressive detailing to be admired.

Below: Dior Homme merchandise needs to be admired up close... so many interesting details are to be discovered. Just look at the flap on the shoulder of this gorgeous jacket that unveils an underlying leather panel. Clever!

Here's a look at the Fall Winter 2010 collection of bags, shoes and accessories. The sneakers being the most outstanding of the new collection. I especially love those designs with buckle strap fastening that ends with a geometric metal buckle. Use of crocodile texture on the toe cap for one of the trainers also creates a contemporary twist on luxury. The boots with buckle straps is another must-have in my wishlist. Equestrian influences but done in a very modern interpretation. The crepe sole suede boots will make a good companion for my upcoming Tokyo trip! I want and need:-)

On the accessories front, the bags retains the Dior Homme DNA where less is more. Simple lines, contemporary and streamlined construction that is sure to wow the modern man in and out of the boardroom. I want the polished leather duffel with the signature embossed linear patterns. Very sleek and sharp!

The jewellery is also topping my lust list. Interesting use of metal rings that gives new inspirations on necklaces and bracelets while retaining Dior Homme's minimal aesthetics. Guys will appreciate the masculine and simplicity of these highly original pieces.

Beyond all the appealing merchandise, the shopping experience is just as important to create a full Dior Homme experience. The new Dior Homme Marina Bay Sands boutique does just that. The store design was conceived by the Dior Homme architectural team together with Kris Van Assche in Paris. Accentuated with design elements that are synonymous with the world of Dior Homme - matte black metal shop front, interior granite flooring, under-lit black lacquered showcases (my favourite design element in the store!), the store design is eye-catching with interplay of transparency, brightness, space and depth. Unique to the store is a one of a kind Dior Homme accessories bar that provides a one stop display of all timepieces, jewellery and small leather goods for convenience of the discerning Dior Homme customer. How thoughtful!

Below: Dior Homme Marina Bay Sands with the ultra impressive facade in contrasting black, whites and gray!

Below: One of a kind accessories bar that provides a convenient one-stop selection of small leather goods, watches and jewellery!

Below: Lastly, of course I have to post pics from my media preview (last week at the new store), with eye candy that must be shared! This Jap-mixed model has a funky look with his hairstyle!

Below: Starting drooling! Dior Homme Model at the media preview. My most favourite model of this year!!! So cute, he makes my jaw dropped (literally). He also tops my list of good looking models I have met. Amazingly, he seems to have a 'model radar' that automatically initiate a pose complete with a model's sultry expression when he is being photographed. Very professional indeed:-P

Enjoy the pics. I am definitely going to pay a few more visits to the new Dior Homme store soon!
