My Shopping Conquest #130

Below: Ready for camouflage? I am... spotting my new ASOS camouflage sleeve shirt today!:-P
ASOS Fall Winter 2012 Camouflage Sleeve Shirt

If you have been following mens fashion trends for the past months, you would have noticed the camouflage print have made a comeback. Never going out of favour for designers, it's just a matter of time this masculine pattern gets recurred as inspirations for the greatest fashion minds.

Dries Van Noten, Jimmy Choo and Valentino were the major players embracing the camouflage pattern for Spring Summer 2013, while Phillip Lim digitised it for the modern dandy in his Fall Winter 2012 collection. Detailings spotting these military patterns also appeared everywhere to invade into every men's wardrobe.

Hence, when I first saw this ASOS camouflage sleeve shirt... it was love at first sight. The shirt may be slightly overwhelming to wear with sleeves unrolled... but it looked fantastic with sleeves rolled up to reveal just the right amount of camouflage. I did my camouflage rounds today with the shirt, spotting a Zara Khaki chinos, Lanvin shoes and the ever versatile Balenciaga Mens Large Clip clutch!

ASOS Contrast Checks Placket/Collar/Sleeves Polo Shirts

I have to proclaim my love for these 'cheap but chic' ASOS Polo t-shirts that feature interesting contrast checks fabric on the placket, collar and sleeves. Some even have a patch pocket in matching pattern which made the design all the more charming. Gingham checks or plaids simply adds a dandy flair to these summer friendly polo tees! I love them:-P Great for matching with jeans or simple canvas shoes for a smart casual look.

I received my grey marl coloured version this Friday and immediately wore it over the weekend. Love the sizing... nicely fitted while not too tight. The contrasting gingham fabric is extra cool. In the end, I love the design so much I got all four versions as shown below:-P

I have to say they are good value considering the design. D&G has similar versions for 'over the top' pricing. Zara would have sold them for at least SGD50. But at ASOS... they are very well priced... just £12 to £16. Click here to get them! (Remember... ASOS ships free internationally!)

My Shopping Conquest #121

Below: Spring Summer 2011 is a 'belt tightening' season!

Belts Ahoy! Spring Summer 2011 Is 'Belt Tightening' Season...

Belts are often one of the most overlooked clothing item on a guy. And no, not all belts work magic and fit all looks. Belts are as equally important as all your other wardrobe pieces (the belt is worn at a strategic position of your body, very visible!). Besides serving a functional purpose of preventing you from indecent exposé (trousers falling down!), it is a fun item that lets you enhance your personality or add depth to an outfit. Forget logo belts (those are for occasional flaunting of your swelling bank account), wear belts that takes on the season's trend or expresses a certain mood you are feeling.

This Spring Summer 2011, I am feeling all the colour blocking craze seen on all levels of fashion. I am also dreaming of setting sails to the high seas, just in time for summer! So here's my latest acquisition for this 'Belt Tightening' SS2011 season:
1) Zara Narrow Yellow Leather Belt – SGD59.90
(Comes in red, orange and blue as well, most affordable colour blocking! Get all colours to mix & match)

2) Jil Sander Orange Red Textured Leather – SGD390
(The red is almost neon!)

3) ASOS Brass Anchor Buckle Leather Belt – £15
(I love anchor motifs)

4) ASOS Twisted Rope Belt – £15
(Sailing chic, where's my yacht?!?)

What are your 'belt tightening' finds this season?

Zara
available at all Zara Boutiques. Jil Sander available at Club 21 Mens, Four Seasons Hotel. ASOS available at www.asos.com

My MANy Bags Lookbook #25

My Marine Style: Spring Summer 2011

I have blogged about the nautical influences in Spring Summer 2011 collections. The key to wear your sailing inspired pieces was not to be too literal.

Here's my take on My Marine Style, merging city and the sea, dandy and the sailor.... Khaki earth tones with sea faring blues, nautical iconography with classic plaids and stripes... it's all about contrast.

Dries Van Noten's Contrast Checked Sleeve Cotton Shirt, Junya Watanabe's Cropped Trousers with Fold Up Contrast Hem and Swear's 'Chaplin 1' Stripe Canvas Lace-ups get some classic dandy styles going. Burberry's Twisted Cord Necklace and ASOS's Brass Anchor Buckle Leather Belt adds a hint of high seas adventure. Finally, a touch of blue (From Prada's Canvas Briefcase) to round off the nautical flair... and my Marine Style is complete:-) City or the sea, here I come!

So what's your marine style this season?
